Simulated KaBoom?
Marvin the Martian 58000 hours before Bugs Bunny arrived...
There was supposed to be a simulated Ka-Boom. A simulated earth shattering Ka-Boom.

Vendor support...
Naaahhhhh. Nice thought, but no computational utopia yet.
How about vendors supply compile farm gateways linked from SF.NET for use by SF members. Great way for hardware vendors to show off their new stuff to folks that might be inclined to buy or have influence in the purchase decision.
Kinda like a hands-on remote(?!) demo.

Red Stripe Beer?
Ya know, this does explain the wacky-ness of the idea. It sounds just like what would come out of a brainstorming session with Red Stripe neuron lubricant.
[exec 1] *glug* *glug* *glug* *belch* Yeah, like lets ask the Internet what to to...
[exec 2] whadda we gonna call it? *glug* *glug*

Wikipedia sponsor solution proposal
I would not be opposed to a simple 125x125 sponsor spot at the top of each page header. Wikipedia is sponsored by [corp]. Simple and effective. There could be a vote on ad approval by the Wikipedia community, only community approved sponsors or something similar to weed out undesirables.

Re:This puts a grin on my face.
FLOSS donations. Every christmas. OOo Mozilla GIMP and others that I use year round. Good suggestion, though. I really am mostly after the joy of kicking the RIAA in the nuts. They do have a legitimate purpose in keeping filesharing to a minimum, but the way they do business in general (lawsuits aside) really makes me dislike them.

This puts a grin on my face.
I'm a lookin for this kids web site (if he has one) and I think i'll paypal him a couple of bucks. Not standing up and saying "NO" to the RIAA is as good as saying OK. I'm glad someone is returning fire.

Cost benefit analysis...
Something else to think about... cost of manufacture. If this is designed for small form factor it is most likely going into consumer electronics. If you are dropping several hundred bucks on a digital SLR you don't mind a big lens. Cost becomes an issue with $100 mass produced Taiwanese gadgets. This seems like it will cost a helluva lot more than a simple plastic standard lens. That only leaves a small market for expensive cameras with form factor restrictions. Or so it seems.

Sinister
FTA: an ancient village discovered two miles from Stonehenge that may have housed workers building the monument, or perhaps visitors after it was constructed.
No, it was something far more sinister. The SPLA: Stonehenge Project Licensing Authority official gift shoppe.
