Re:single player
The Scrabulous site has a practice version available which allows you to play by yourself or against a computer. I'm guessing Wordscaper will have the same thing once they fix themselves up.

www.scrabulous.com - facebook not required
You don't need facebook. You can play at http://www.scrabulous.com/ - there's even an email version, which will email you when your opponent has played his/her move.
Scrabulous was the reason I originally joined Facebook. When I found that I could play without having a Facebook account, I had my account deleted (mailed them and told them to delete everything!) and I play exclusively using the email version of the game.

Who cares if Facebook blocks it?
You can just play it at their website http://www.scrabulous.com/
Big deal...

Facebook is not the Internet
The Web-based version of Scrabulous seems to be working just fine.

Re:Scrabble cannot be copyrighted.
Note, trademarks are probably what are at issue since "Scrabulous" is easily confused with "Scrabble." The authors of the game should have picked something that did not reference the trademarked name.
It doesn't help their cause that until they started getting hassled by Mattel, the URL for the solo game had been http://www.scrabulous.com/solitaire_scrabble.php
Not the brightest rip-off artists in the book. -
Re:Scrabble
Did you know that you can play Scrabble on Scrabulous' website directly, without having to be on Facebook?
