Personally these sites really don't encourage a Buyer/Bidder relationship, and I have had my accounts on elance, and kasamba, banned for initiating direct contact with my clients. Ofcourse talking through the vale of secrecy and the worst e-mail systems ever concocted by a webcoder are always the best means of communications with clients.
As these sites want there Buyers to keep posting more projects so they can continue to leech money from both sides out of either in monthly membership fees, posting fees, and percentage of earnings fees.

Seriously, if you're having trouble getting free ad-hoc volunteer support (which you are not by any means entitled to), hire a consultant to help you. I'm sure if you went to Scriptlance or some similar site, you could get a decent rate.

We don't do that anymore. Just like companies that hope to market their news agencies have got to stop depending on search engines to reel in traffic. The sites that attract visitors through searches and make revenue by serving ads are established and have consumed the available market share.

To be successful doing what they do, one of them has to go under right around the time you have something similar already seeding in search engines. Its quite a long waiting list folks.

If you want to reach a niche news market you need to hit people during rush hour in their cars with radio advertisements, or find another way of luring them to your site and when they arrive your titles had better not be crafted for Google.

Look at the explosion of over a million .eu domains, many of which are going to be those article-wiki type affiliate marketing sites and search engines are already crawling them. Sorry guys, but the days of putting up hundreds of pages of content and waiting for Google to do your marketing are gone.

Don't re-write the titles, take the hint that what you're doing just isn't working. Either change your marketing strategy or re-evaluate the fiscal sanity of continuing to publish.

Insanity is doing the same thing over, and over and over again yet expecting different results. The market is flooded - get creative in your advertising and MORE creative with your content and you may enjoy some success. Otherwise the sad fact is .. nobody is going to find you.

Go take a look at shitlance and search for "need articles, need articles re-written, SEO content author". Trying to succeed doing what they're doing is like punching yourself in the nuts until you pass out.

Looks like a human being (at google) checked the site. I just did too, and found absolutely no meaningful content on it whatsoever. In fact, every link I clicked took me to some place where I could spend money, thus compensating kinderstart for the referral.

This is known as a "clicktrap" and (imho) is the most annoying thing in the world to happen upon.

People use Google because your chances of finding what you want, quickly are good. I.e. being taken directly to the "end of the line" , either right to a store itself, or to an article, or something else related to your search. Not to one of the stupid internet polluting man in the middle wastes of disk space.

You can go to a site like shitlance and pay someone from India a few hundred bucks to arrange hundreds of lasting (and good) backlinks. Search that site for "SEO" and you'll see what I mean.

It depends what you want. Do you want to sit down with someone and talk over needs? Call some local ISPs and ask them for recommendations.

Do you want to find a big company on the internet to help you? Google has plenty. Hint: pick a few tasks you need to perform and search Google for how to do them. Contact the authors who give the best examples.

Are you willing to risk a little? ScriptLance has a large number of people who are qualified to do the work. You will have to wade through the sludge though.

If you are really brave, you could post your contact info here. There are certainly qualified web designers who post on slashdot. Heck, a year ago, I would have bid on this. Sounds fun.

What am I supposed to do for money? I don't want a free ride but odds are that, if I wouldn't hire someone disabled like me, nobody else will either.

My dad always told me to get a profession (lawyer, doctor, etc.), not a job. With a job, say as a manager, you're always dependent on a company being willing to employ you for your income. With a profession, you can work for a company or a firm, or hang out your own shingle and work for yourself. One of the best things about being a skilled developer is that it's more of a profession than a job, and you can hang out your own shingle if a company won't hire you. Sounds like you've got the skills to do so, and now a business degree to help you with the financial/legal/managerial side of running your own business, so why not give it a try?

There are multiple options: contract application development (http://www.dice.com/ http://www.scriptlance.com/ http://www.getafreelancer.com/ http://www.rentacoder.com/ http://www.elance.com/ government & corporate grants for small tech businesses (http://www.technologygrantnews.com/), or various tech-related consulting services (here's one somewhat related to your situation - http://www.adaptivetech.net/).

It's easy to get into the mindset of thinking the only way to make money is by working for a corporation, and to an extent that's probably the most secure way, unless the corporation goes under. But there are other avenues that while initiallly more difficult may give you more control over your own destiny, and hence may prove to be both more secure and more rewarding in the long run. Try to identify a need that your skills and experiences allow you to address in a unique way. For example, your tech skills and long experience, plus MS might allow for some interesting services to people with MS and similar demographics, and would probably be a decent candidate for a government small business grant. Think about it.

I have actually seen a lot of these sort of things on scriptlance . They tend to be labelled as "fake hits" and whenever I ask them why they want the software they want it to "test" their banner exchange or something similar....
