Re:The British are now like the Terrorists...
Well, the terrorists themselves are crazy religious fucks. No doubts about that. But they're only useful idiots. Their leaders on the other hand are politically motivated. Just read any of the statements of Bin Laden, for example. There's a lot of religious gibberish in there, too. But the main message should be clear to everyone. Just read it and you will understand terrorism a lot better.

Re:Self-limiting congestionDid 9/11 choke the Internet? I'd say that was a heck of a lot more of an immediate go-to-your-computer-for-news crisis...
Well it sure kicked the shit out of cnn.com. I recall it being even sparser than this when I first viewed it, and it was slow as molasses

Re:If the US didn't go into UNJUSTIFIED wars...
No wait...we should have let Saddam get nukes...no wait...we should let President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad get nukes so he can blow up the Israelis *then* us as he has said. Because we all know the Holocaust was a myth.http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/12/14/ir
a n.israel/ And any who would help the 'Zionists' should be wiped off the face of the earth. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/10/26/ahma dinejad/index.html/ http://www.aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=9898/
Because we should wait until something happens to us first...no wait http://www.september11news.com/111wtcreutersitaly. jpg/ we did already. Maybe our country *is* wrong and we should listen to better leaders http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/09/20/chave z.un/index.html/ as our leader is obviously the devil incarnate.
Maybe we've lost too many soldiers and should pull out...no wait...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_toll#War _and_military_action/...we've lost more in those than any other time...wait wait...might we have lost close to as many in Katrina? Where are the war drums beating for those people? Where are the people complaining that those families still don't have homes to move back into?
But I digress. -
Re:Pathetic.
"we wouldn't have to pay for
.... tax credits to corporations"
We already spend $0 on that. A tax break or tax credit is never a transfer of money from the the government to someone. It is merely allowing someone to keep more of what they earned or owned in the first place. Nothing spent by the government, so no taxpayer funds ventured.
"we wouldn't have to pay for any more international military adventurism"
You bet! Instead, we'll have international military adventures right here, and we won't have to spend a dime on them. -
Re:Considering the terrorists are usually..Considering the terrorists are usually..poor
Osama bin Laden is worth about $250 million US. The seventeenth child of fifty, his family grew rich in construction work for the Saudi royal family. Osama bin Laden But never as rich or as prized as even the most insignificant of Saudi princes.

Re:Even WORSE!
Too late.
Like many hysteria robots, I have already inducted my self destruct sequence.
I mean, er, expungator.
So what's all this talk about the "red" button? That's something about Cold War Russia, right? "Red". I'm clever. I watch FOXnews nightly. Ah well, push those Russian buttons, see if IConnection with host lost... -

Re:bin laden..
two things.
1) the proof is in the putting - al qaeda was cranking out incriminating audio propaganda non-stop. in fact, in one tape, bin laden claimed that attacks on the world trade center were actually self-defense, and therefore supported by islamic law.
2) the presence in guantanamo bay of lots of known al qaeda operatives who have detailed their planning procedures for the september 11 attacks is a pretty good clue.
3) bin laden had already established a pattern of conduct with the USS cole and khobar towers bombings that made him particularly interesting to international terrorism experts. keep in mind that the burden of proof in a legal context is "beyond reasonable doubt." if you have any contrary evidence that can cast doubt on these allegations (and i mean more than just contradicting them - "no he didn't...."), then let's bring it on.

Re:Don't.Are you so naïve? There are lots of people who want to murder YOU. Personally! They want to slit YOUR throat just like they did to Daniel Pearl. They don't care what you believe.
I want you to take a HARD LOOK at these pictures . Is this the peace you had in mind? No? Too bad! That's the peace you're going to get if you don't support people who will pick up guns to defend freedom.
This "peace" process of negotiation and diplomacy is killing us! How many more thousands have to be killed before you will be willing to fight for what you believe in? You can't make peace with tyrants.
I hope you don't mind being made a Muslim at gunpoint. You want this for our country? Or this? A lifestyle not defended by force is an endangered lifestyle. And for good reason: A lifestyle that's not worth defending by force is not a lifestyle worth living.
I'm not going to play your moral equivalency games. These are the facts: Some people are good. Some people are evil. Please get a clue and find out who's whom in this war.
One less US soldier is one step closer to [Rest In] Peace. This is what happens to be people who don't fight hard enough. Peaceful, isn't it?
Pacifism invites and encourages the "peace" of gas chambers and guillotines, deceit and dirty bombs, broken promises and body bags, terror and tombstones, all brought on by the enemy. War, on the other hand, eliminates the broods of evildoers so that peace can ensue.
You cannot reason with irrational, deceitful dictators. Talking with a cheating enemy (and what enemy isn't?) just allows it to thrive and grow. If you get stung by a bee, you don't try to talk it out of stinging you again. You break out the big can of insecticide and kill the pest! Peace cannot begin until the source of the attack is neutralized or eliminated. Therefore, war is usually the most effective tool for peace.
You just keep that hippie attitude. I can't wait to see the look on your face when this happens to your town. Next time, it may be nuclear or worse. Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon are terrorist nations and all have nuclear capabilities. China has us in the crosshairs too. On the next attack, you'll be lucky to be as fortunate as this poor guy.
