Re:Holy summarization, Batman!
This being
/. I am sure the people here should be able to run their own openID. I use for now still http://siege.org/phpmyid.php [DEPRICATED] and it still works fine for me for logging in on many sites, including this one.
I have not looked, but I am sure others will be available or just re-write it to whatever you want.I have done the setup of the 2 pages myself because I do not want others to be tracing me.

Re:Not Really Sold on the Correlations
The beauty of Open ID is that anyone can run a provider. Even you.
That is why I use (the depricated) http://siege.org/phpmyid.php
Not sure what I am going to use as a replacement. -
Re:Torn
There used to be a time that you could easily host your own OpenID with e.g. http://siege.org/phpmyid.php
You point to http://yoursite.example.com/ instead of the one from Google or any other OID provider.
That way you limit the chance of giving somebody else access as you manage your own login and password. Some others might be found here : http://openid.net/developers/libraries

Re:OpenID Concept still has issues.
I would change the nexus from some server-in-the-sky to your PC storing/providing authentication. I know that's crazy-talk, being responsible for your own identity and everything.
That's a great idea! I think you should call it OpenID.

Re:Damned MS...
Holy shit! You mean, when I use OpenID I'm being tracked by my provider?
Oh wait, my provider is... me. phpMyID motherfucker, DO YOU GET IT?

Karma whoring...
mylid.net - lets you get a free OpenID and LID thingy.
http://siege.org/projects/phpMyID/ - PHP script so that you can run your own ID thingy. Under your control.
And yeh, I now have access to two OpenID's from Yahoo, but personally, I think I'll be doing one of the above two whenever this OpenID thing becomes more popular. -
Screenwriting
I use my MediaWiki installation as screenwriting software. Maybe not as full featured as something like FinalDraft, but it's free, has built-in version control, and allows collaboration.
