Boondocks is GreatWhile we're discussing politically intelligent, well-drawn comics, I'd like to throw in a plug for Aaron McGruder's strip "The Boondocks". You can check out some of the strips here: http://www.boondocks.net/main.html
It's a great strip, and one of the only ones worth reading in the paper anymore (along with Foxtrot, Dilbert, Curtis, and... I guess that's about it for my local rag). Sadly, it's also problematic, since it generates a lot of hate mail from all races, especially here in the south... The good thing is that McGruder has just recently published his first book collection of the strips.
For a web comic, I'd have to say my hands-down favorite is Sinfest (http://www.sinfest.net). The art style is somewhere inbetween Bloom County and Calvin and Hobbes, though far more subversive and lewd than either. Enjoy!

Re:PromptsThey can't do it. they can do it with applescript (or whatever they use) but not through the GUI.
Wanna bet?
Here's the process I used:
- Double-click folder (ie: directory) icon on desktop
- Press command-a (sellect all)
- Press command-c (copy)
- Click on text-entry app.
- Press command-v (paste)
Here, I'll press command-v for ya here:

(Of course, HTML doesn't know what to do with the linefeeds, but they are there.)
That's a directory listing of my Sinfest archive.
Nothing in that procedure that would be unknown to any Mac user.

greed is goodI tried to find a story or a parable that would be funny, and would fit this situation. Sadly, none is quite right.
The situation reminds me of bullies at a playground. It used to be that all the kids would play there, but now the bullies want it for themselves. It elvolves into things like gangs, and the regular folks go away.
Unfortunately, I can't think of anything to make that seem funny
All these lawsuits remind me children fighting over something screaming "mine!", "mine!", "mine!". At it never was theirs in the first place. And they will all cry and blame the other guy when they break it.
Ubersoft seems less of a satire, and this sequence (about ten strips) in Sinfest seems strangely appropriate.

Comics that are worthwhile
There are actually several comics out there that are worth it -- Boondocks is one of them. Others include Liberty Meadows, for the satire and the stunning art. Frank Cho is really, really good. The Washington Post carries it, as do a couple of others. For those who prefer something more sarcastic and biting, Sinfest is an amusing comic that can make some good points. Again, the art is very nice -- it's somewhat of a homage to manga. Be warned that the strips should probably be marked "mature content" -- not visually, but verbally.

Re:So what?
I think this is funnier than the "if OSes were cows", but I'm already warped from reading sinfest today.

WebComics
Well.. As long as we're talkin about web-comics, I might as well plug PopeAlien.Comics..
I know I for one read more web-comics than paper-comics, and I'm wondering if that goes for others as well.. There's quite a few good ones out there (I like sinfest).. How about you?
