Try StackOverflow.com
Joel Spolsky (of Fog Creek software) has recently launched a new web site for programming questions, http://stackoverflow.com./ It has lots of good answers to questions, and is well designed to be very easy to search and find results.

Wrong question
The question you ask is wrong...since people are no longer answering questions on usenet. The proper question is...where can I find answers to programming questions.
Answer:
www.stackoverflow.com -
Re:Why don't we do the same every week?
You mean like stackoverflow.com?
Dear slashdot, we know your traffic figures are declining and you're dying for cheap and effective (ad revenue) content. But really, this is becoming a tragedy... -
It must be going around.
This was a recent topic on stackoverflow. There are some really good suggestions there.

Re:Old tech
If you want to learn how to be leet like that CSI chick, just head on over to StackOverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/177541/how-do-i-create-a-gui-interface-using-visual-basic-i-need-to-track-an-ip-addres

Re:I like Mono, but...
Well any website with pages that end in
.aspx is written in .Net, for one thing.Check out Stackoverflow. It's written in
.Net, but not as we know it. No ".aspx", no anything on the end of the pages. It uses the brand new MVC kit and other .net 3.5 features like LINQ. And it's excellent. -
Perhaps have a look at StackOverflow

Re:What a load of BS (CS)
When I suggested that I spent some spare time exploring and extrapolating FizzBuzz for fun (and testing!!! my solutions), I got called incompetent because it was an "uninteresting" problem.
I'm with you. Over on Stack Overflow, one of the launch topics was FizzBuzz, and the veritable jungle of solutions in everything from assembly to Ook! was a joy to behold (and learn from).

Re:high quality?
It already has.
Take the peer review of Digg, give it the interface of del.icio.us, and hack out some broken transitional XHTML... and you've got Stack Overflow.
Seriously, for a guy who runs a site called Coding Horror, the irony isn't lost on me that Atwood put together this abortion. Cute idea, but it misses the mark entirely.

Re:important programming question
vim or emacs?
Has anyone asked *that* yet?
Of course . . . you can't have a programming community without abusive editor war threads:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2898/text-editor-for-linux-besides-vi
-
Re:important programming question
That question is used as the example of what not to ask, so instead there's this:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35809/why-are-vi-and-emacs-popular
-
The differences:
- Reputation system that actually matters (see Nerdposeur's post above) - Specific focus on functionality to drive user behaviour patterns - wiki approach to QnA - focus on community-driven content. - focus on keeping it free Experts Exchange has maybe 2 of the above, and nobody is really doing it the way that this site is doing it. Listen to the Stack Overflow podcast to understand a lot more about what they're doing that makes this site significantly different from the "other" answer sites.

Re:Expert sex change, again?it's called stack overflow and people expect it to look pretty? Personally, I would expect the site to look like the Cobol on Cogs site with a name like that.
I hate the Yahoo Answers site, and this looks like its going to be a version of that for computer related questions.
"Best subversion client for Mac OS?"
(how bout svn you dope)
"What is the single most effective way to keep from getting Slashdotted"
(I won't even comment on this)Personally I can't wait until the relationship questions come up. "How do I get a girl?" "What do boobs feel like?" hehe.

Not luck...
Although in some cases I've seen code that's more or less like this
