SuperCard for Nintendo DS?Supercard is still around... http://www.supercard.us/ Their brand name has been co-opted by a maker of SD adapters for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS (official site; dev-scene article; PHWiki article). Is this something we should be worried about?

Re:too much psp hate
The PSP plays home console quality games, video, music, provides some internet access, makes a great photo viewer, and more.
I do this all on my Nintendo DS lite, I just bought a Slot-1 Supercard and I got everything -- I can dump my games to the device so I don't need to carry so many cartridges with me, I've got the entire BSG series on one of my micro SD cards (that go into the supercard), there is a picture viewer, it works, but I don't use it... Hell, I even got Linux running on thing.
I actually even found homebrew games I liked playing which surprised me. Additionally, I've taken a interest in developing homebrew applications on it, although I haven't got that far yet.
I don't really know what's great about the PSP, but so far you haven't really given me a good reason to look into it. I'm also somewhat against buying Sony hardware for the simple fact... I've never seen Sony game hardware last long.
My only gripe with the Nintendo DS is that it doesn't support WPA. -
Re:wasn't quite there for me yet
I think homebrew stuff is kewl. I love it. However, I don't like how you have 10 things hanging off a DS for it to work
:)With something like SuperKey and a SuperCard lite, which uses MicroSD, you won't have anything hanging out of a NintendoDS lite, it as the same size as a normal NDS Module and does no longer require to plug an original module in, like a PassMe does and it doesn't require flashing the NintendoDS either.

Crazy in Japan
I recently went to Japan, and the prolifiration of the DS is just crazy there, everywere you see people of all ages. playing with DSs. So i think what is happening is more previously non-gamers are turning into casuals, and more casuals are turning hardcore.
Myself included, I have never owned a console before, but recently i bought a GBA, and a few games and was mostly a 'casual', but then i bought a flashcard (http://www.supercard.cn/) and couldn't stop playing constantly. That has since wore off, and now i rarely play anymore. but now my gf has taking over and is playing like crazy. So i think a lot of people are changing between being hardcore and casuals in different periods of time. -
Re:Lumines
Check here to read about the supercard: http://www.supercard.cn/
Seems pretty good, and very cheap (apx. 250 RMB/Yuan here in China) - only disadvantages as far as I could tell is the chips in it is not so fast for playing movies, and it seems to eat a lot of battery. But should be able to play almost all games flawlessly. -

Re:Hmmmm
Piracy is actually quite a problem for the GBA software, take a look at this:

With this little card reader, and download game ROMS on the web, you can play most GBA games without actually buying the games. This must hurt Nintendo quite a bit.
