    Dear All,

    I have been feeling at a little bit of a lose end since I was kicked out of the Women's Institute for bad behaviour so I asked Simon what else I could do on the internet besides talking to you.

    Don't worry, I'm not going to abandon you dear readers! But I can't spend all day writing to you. He got me a new game which sounds very violent, it's called 'Man Hunt'. Apparently I pretend to be a Robber or something silly like that. I'll give it a go to humour him, but I shouldn't think I'll like it.

    Of course displaying all those videos is so very much more complicated than talking to the internet so apparently my 'Alienware' needs a bit of a boost to make it go faster. He put in some more chips for me, and now it's 'awesome'.

    I felt a bit bad since now I know that chips make it faster I could improve it mysef without paying Simon since I have a deep fat fryer in the kitchen. Still, I would never do that to him, he has been so helpful getting me all set up and going.

    Now I'm off to see what being a bad man is like!

    I have been feeling at a little bit of a lose end since I was kicked out of the Women's Institute for bad behaviour so I asked Simon what else I could do on the internet besides talking to you.

    Don't worry, I'm not going to abandon you dear readers! But I can't spend all day writing to you. He got me a new game which sounds very violent, it's called 'Man Hunt'. It's really great since I can just talk to a few people at a time instead of it going to everyone who has their computer switched on. Now I can ask my sons about my grandkids every hour without it filling up the internet!

    The best thing is that I have an electronic post address for Simon, so now I can write my s.o.s. messages directly to him. He said that if my computer breaks I should write to him at once to let him know.

    I am trying to undo the message I entered into the internet yesterday, but I can't! Why is there no delete button on this system! June Dawkins found the message and is very upset I called her a cheat, she has threatened to get me kicked out of the Women's Institute for unsporting behaviour.

    Perhaps she will even manage to get me banned from talking to the internet, I was very impolite after all! I implied she was a bad cook, which is a really a nasty insult for any grandmother!

    I have come to an important decision. I would like to enable privacy for my web diary. Until Simon, my technical young man, manages to add this to the internet I will have to ask you to help me on the honour system. Please stop reading my web diary and forget anthing I have said.

I'm not quite sure why, as we haven't all been formally introduced yet, but I do like to comply with convention. Simon, my tech guy, gave me a dictionary to help me translate, but some of the words are very rude and I can't immagine myself ever using them. Except maybe to June Dawkins if she cheats at the sponge cake competition again this year. I don't care if she is reading this, damson jam was banned for a reason!

    Three hundred people read my 'blog' yesterday! You have no idea how proud I am, the best anyone has managed to get to the Womens Institute for a talk is thirty three. June Dawkins only managed nineteen, she was green when I told her about my three hundred new friends who read my diary! Of course my readers are much younger too, Simon told me that most people on the internet are teenagers while everyone at the WI is ancient like me.

    I have seen that some of you who talk to the internet have little counters that say how many people are reading. I am much more impressed with how advanced my system is; I ring up Simon and ask him. I really should mention Simon, he is the nice man who connected me to the information motorway. Anyway when I want to know how many of you are listening to me I call him up and ask.

    Much better than a silly little counter. I rang him yesterday and he said "oh, at least three hundred people, whatever" which is how young people talk these days. I asked him how many people would be reading today and he said five hundred! I am very impressed with his service indeed . And hello to the two hundred new people who will listen to me today!

    I am trying to show you a picture today but it isn't working! I hope that Simon, my young technical man, is listening to me right now so he can help. One of the girls at the Women's Institute told me that I can plug in my camera and drag pictures to my messages, but when I do all that shows up is a strange word like 'dsc08080822455.jpg'.
    That isn't my picture! I think I must need to talk to dsc jpg and ask for it back. Perhaps the number is his phone number but calling it doesn't seem to work. I wonder if he lives in America, I hear that is where lots of computer people come from, especially the ones with strange names. I will go see if the operator can connect me internationally. Isn't the modern age wonderful!

    Dear All,

    I am trying to show you a picture today but it isn't working! I hope that Simon, my young technical man, is listening to me right now so he can help. One of the girls at the Women's Institute told me that I can plug in my camera and drag pictures to my messages, but when I do all that shows up is a strange word like 'dsc08080822455.jpg'.
    That isn't my picture! I think I must need to talk to dsc jpg and ask for it back. Perhaps the number is his phone number but calling it doesn't seem to work. I wonder if he lives in America, I hear that is where lots of computer people come from, especially the ones with strange names. I will go see if the operator can connect me internationally.     Gosh, this is terribly exciting. I'm talking to the internet. Hello to all of you! I bet you can't believe it either!
    I even have a computer. I didn't really want one but the nice man said it was necessary. He was very, very considerate and insisted on getting me the best. Apparently this is an 'Alienware' because the company makes computers that the most of the internet can read at once. That means, dear readers, that more of you can read what I write!
    I really think that two thousand pounds might be a teeny bit much to let me talk on the internet but, as he says, the latest 'blog' software is terribly complicated. Oh, gosh, look at me using technical terms like I am some kind of techno-grandmother! Blog means 'web diary', although that doesn't really make much sense to me at the moment. I'm sure I'll get it later.
    Anyway, all the best for now. I'll write more to you later. Don't forget to leave your computer on so that it gets to you!
