Re:Apps, Apps and more Apps
But no Adobe, Autodesk, Maya etc.
1. Adobe is not a program or product. It's a brand. Are you saying that Photoshop doesn't run on Linux? Because there's alternatives y'know. Or you might be able to run PS CC 2015 under Wine.
2. Autodesk also isn't a program or product. It's a brand. Are you saying that AutoCAD doesn't run on Linux? Because there's alternatives y'know.
3. Maya does install and run natively on Linux
Of course, when it comes to software, Linux supports literally everything except MS Visual Studio. -
I thought you said free
By "free to play" I thought it was like this actual good games that are free. Not that tossing them a few $20 for the games wouldn't be a cool thing to do, they are free games to play.

Re:2012
Google could make it happen, a dedicated Android (Linux) version for desktop would be a guaranteed success
You mean Microsoft and Google could make it happen; since Microsoft (apparently) owns significant portions of Linux. The Arab Spring never touched the Western world Intellectual Property.

Re:kubuntu GUI is better
Link to some quick alternatives. I'm suddenly unsure if I ended up on kubuntu or Xubuntu. http://www.techdrivein.com/2011/05/top-4-lightweight-official-ubuntu-based.html

Re:Self-destructive
After this little stunt, and if this trend continues in the future, I would be surprised if OO.o remained the office of choice in Ubuntu 11.04, or really any of the Linux distros who pride themselves on free software. Oracle is destroying its free-software products.
openSUSE and Ubuntu are switching to the LO codebase. -
Re:Reminds me of XFree86 vs XOrg
seems ubuntu is switching to libreoffice soon.
