Summary of comments
At least half the comments on this story will boil down to one or more of the following:
- String theory is bunk. I know this because I heard someone call it "string theology" once and I thought that was clever.
- This idea is bunk because I think it contradicts something I vaguely remember from the Physics 101 course I took as a requirement for my CS degree ten years ago.
- Modern physics is bunk because nothing can move in spacetime. Visit my blog to learn the truth!
- Everyone knows the unifying force that holds the universe together is not gravity, but electricity. We have books, too!
- Ivory-tower egghead academics want to keep all their science locked away behind paywalls! How are we supposed to evaluate this if we can't read the paper?!?
- Modern science is bunk. These stupid liberal academics should just read the Bible.
- YOU ARE EDUCATED STUPID!
There. That should save everyone some time.

The electrical portion of the solar system is ignored unfortunately. -
The Electric Universe theories predicted this
This is yet another prediction come true by proponents of The Electric Universe a set of theories which explain many phenomena that are seen and should be seen better than the so called "real science". what happens when real science sends up probe after probe looking for info and then are surprised by the results, but then site like that have already predicted what would be seen and get it right time after time?
They are often dismissed as crackpots because the theories fly in the face of convention but they get it right time and time again decades before 'real science' does.
Makes you wonder. -
Kooks unite!
That is just so wrong. See Electric Universe for the real truth about the sun and solar flares...

Re:Can I get a link please?
Wikipedia has a lengthy article on the Electric Universe Model, although there is a warning at the top that "The neutrality and factual accuracy of this article are disputed."
It'll give you some background. I have to say that a cursory reading does suggest a level of kookdom.
There is also a site put together by the László Körtvélyessy - the original proponent of the theory here: http://www.the-electric-universe.info/ -
Fixed Link
The proper link is here. While checking on this, I took the opportunity to have another look around the website. These guys really are chewing the carpet; for instance, their page on the CHANDRA X-ray observatory shows a failure to grasp even the most basic aspects of X-ray emission in astrophysical plasmas.

And that's all nuclear powered? Really?
a much larger nuclear power reactor
Are you absolutely sure?
