Re:Sadly
If you're taking about legally being recognized as a religion, that I can't comment on (because I don't know) but a bona fide religion can be as small as a dozen people. The point is that the rest of the world does not have to recognize it as a religion for it to be a religion.
Religion: The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.
By that definition, the Church of Google, http://www.thechurchofgoogle.org/, is a religion. Jediism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jediism) is a religion. Just because very few people take it seriously does not make it any less of a real religion. Note that also doesn't mean that it's something that people SHOULD take seriously. -

And if apropos don't help, you can alway pray

So let's remember "Snowcrash"...
Okey, where do I apply for Google Citizenship? Are there any invites available?
Seriously, at this pace, some decades later we'll have Google Phone with Google Voice, and Google Netbook with Google OS, connected to Google ISP, Google Work, Google Home, Google VR (on a base of Google Earth), Google Church and Google Transport, working on some green Google Energy. What will it be in all, Google Benefaction? Unnerving, but still much better than M$ Empire, Apple Khalifat, or GNU/Anarchy to my taste. -
Re:Dumbass
You are quite correct. Marx Was born into a Christian society as were his teachers. Ideas coming from the Bible in such a context, loose their sources once the wording changes. They become "common sense". The same is true for other holly books and the lands they dominate.
Now to the main point of the article. Poor parents also tend to be less in touch with the schools and less informed about medical and disciplinary matters. Most importantly they are less likely to assert their authority.
In short. The Middle class parents are going to pray to google about "Ritalin" and then respond: "You can prescribe all the methylphenidate you like but not for my child". In most cases, the poor single mom doesn't know and hasn't the confidence to assert her own authority against teachers and Doctors who are far more educated than she is.
It will be harder to track how many middle class parents were instructed to drug their kids and simply refused, often with the backing of a private doctor. -
Re:And the church?
How long before Google offically becomes a religion and starts defining reality/
The future is already here, it's just not very evenly distibuted.
