Re:Change...
Here the Italian Ministerial Program for the Lower Middle School (kids 11-13 years old) http://www.aetnanet.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=118#SCIENZE%20MATEMATICHE,%20CHIMICHE,%20FISICHE%20E%20NATURALI Here what they teach at "Liceo Scientifico" If you translate this from Italian with Google, you could find what the teachers are required to teach and the pupils to learn. If you look further, you could find the actual problems given as tests to the pupils at the final exams for graduation: http://www.liceocastiglione.it/esami_di_stato.htm (here the problems for the pupils from the "Liceo Scientifico" of all Italy in 2009 -2008 -2007 (pupils 19 years old) Here the problems for the final graduation exams from Technical Schools (Electronics and Systems) and proposed solutions http://web.tiscali.it/i2viu/esami/svolti.htm The final exams in Italy are called "Esame di MaturitÃ", the problems are the same for all Italy classes, for all schools. They are different only for different specializations. The texts of the exams are delivered in the same day, at the same hour, to all the school of Italy by the Police (depending directly from the Government) just before the exam. And if the student cheat they seriously risk to repeat all the exams the next year. Not exactly bubble-box exams.

KMDI?
I've found gambas to be pretty useful for prototyping something quickly, especially with the auto completion. If you want the interface to be an MDI I'd imagine that it should be fairly easy to do this as I believe the IDE for gambas is actually written in gambas. I think one of the problems at the moment is that the gambas component that allows access to the QT Workspace control is a bit buggy Although if someone could write a gambas component for KMDI http://web.tiscali.it/andreabergia/kmditutorial.h
t ml this would allow the use of an interface similar to that of kdevelop -
Re:Gee...
For a nice idea on how bands do under the current system, may I recommend this. A depressingly realistic view on the internels of a record contract.

Re:I wonder
F-Prot antivirus is available for free for home users, and runs on Linux, Windows, BSD, DOS and Solaris. For the Unix-based systems, there is a nice GUI front end called xfprot.
Smoothwall is a "best-of-breed Internet firewall/router, designed to run on commodity hardware, and to give an easy-to-use administration interface to those using it. Built using open source and Free software, it's distributed under the GNU Public License". -
The Ultimate Laser Pointer
You will need:
322,951 crewmen
Several million tons of quadanium steel
Approx. 950,000 troopers in cool white plastic uniforms
One (1) small moon at the outer edges of the known galaxy at which to construct the thing.
Here are some technical specs, and a handy diagram.
Basically, you do the following:
(1) Use all the steel to build this gigantic metal ball, with a dimple on one side. You use a huge rubber band (available at your friendly neighborhood hardware store) to hold the laser pointers together, and put them in the dimple (make sure the batteries are always charged.) Get all your 1.5-odd million crew guys and troops on board, and fire the bitch up.
(2) ...
(3)profit!
Warning: Warranty void in case of attack by swarms of rebel fighters and small foam balls. -

Does it have anything to do with Papa Mobile?

autoruns
here's an interesting one. let's say you (or someone you know) has just bought a brand new computer. or more or less new. or at any rate you know it works.
but the blarsted thing starts all this junk up when the machine boots! everything fFrom media players, to monitor controllers, to printer and scanner watchdogs, almost certainly some schedule apps, and maybe a couple virusscanners! untold ram is just being gnashed away by a string of programs sitting in the systray!
so, i always, when i go to look at a fFriend's new computer, take autoruns fFrom www.sysinternals.com . conveniently shows every thing which is scheduled to boot fFrom anywhere in the registry or startup directory. lovely lovely app.
that, and a nice task manager (there are many available.) i like A.T.M. -
Re:Terrible company
Cool, you can even google the obscure names of registered users... so is Mariëtte Fikkert the same as this person from an MP3-swapping site's contact list?
Privacy. Mmmmmmmm. -
My choices...
... are dagrab to rip (mainly coz cdda2wav was playing up), oggenc to encode, and the very friendlyGrip for the frontend. I highly recommend Grip, whatever else you use for the actual back end stuff.
Basically, I was feeling too slack to find out why cdda2wav was giving me grief, so I had a quick squiz thru' /usr/ports/audio, installed dagrab, and was up and ripping within 5 minutes.
God, I love ports.
