University or Small Business Center
I'm not really familiar with Austrailia, but in the United States most public Universities have Small Business Centers that provide free help.
For example, near where I live in Florida, the University of West Florida offers services.
Or the United States Small Business Association provides resources.
My wife made use of these when she started up her business. Its been about 18 months, not making a profit yet but sales have been increasing. -
Re:Problem in America... BUT
Could you please provide a reference for how the names ought to be pronounced? Every single pronunciation guide I could find on-line said, to the last one, that the pronunciation of "Zeus" is [ZOOS]. I've had an interest in Greek Mythology for some time, and I've never come across any other pronunciation. If there actually is a pronunciation that is more correct than that, I am very curious to know what it is.
Here are a few references I found when attempting to find a pronunciation guide:

Re:never underestimate gravitational potential eneIf the planet never falls into the star (the star rises and meets it instead) you don't get to extract that gravitational potential energy..
And you're being pretty blithe invoking tides. Since tidal forces fall of like 1/r^3, you'd need a monster of a planet to induce significant tides in the star.
Well, which is it? When you say that "the star rises and meets it", you seem to be describing the inducement of a tidal bulge or Roche lobe. You then complain that I am invoking a tidal bulge. And while you say "Since tidal forces fall of like 1/r^3, you'd need a monster of a planet to induce significant tides in the star," it should be obvious that the closeness of the planet is far more important than mass. The force goes as r^-3, so it takes only a small decrease in r for a large increase in force, while the tidal force is only linear in m. Also, you'll have to explain how the planet would be moving out from the star if the star's 'day' is greater than the planet's year, as I basically don't believe you. It goes against what I was taught about the orbits of Phobos and Deimos, one of which is doomed to crash into Mars or get crushed into a ring in the process, and one is not. But ultimately to me it didn't matter how the planet got to surface of the star.
:Like you, I was interested in modeling it once the planet and star atmospheres had contacted each other. That's when the real fireworks begin. We're merely disagreeing as to the height in the star's atmosphere that the planet descends to before it is transferring the maximum mount of power to the star. Once the two objects are touching, the tidal forces have to be important, but that would be a more complicated model than I am willing to work on at the moment. But yes, I am anxious to see the "goddamn paper." -

Re:CS is the geek's degree
IS can barely write a shell script
Well, I'm a CIS major who did in fact learn how to write a shell script. But here's the thing - I also had classes in VM/CMS, COBOL, FORTRAN, etc. How useful do you think they are to me now? At my university, the difference btw CS and CIS was the substitution of higher math (Cal II for example) for basic business (Accounting for example) and the requirement to take even more business-related electives. The result is that I had all the core computer courses. The problem is that only the theory courses are still relevent - and those aren't the ones that teach you how to write a shell script. -
Nothing Wrong with Marine Biology
Unfortunately this applies to me. Damn my career choices but hey animals suck. Give me algae any day. At school though there are a lot of good looking women trying to enter the field, so i'd have to disagree with the one about not getting any. Of course going to one of the only schools that has MB as a major is also helpful. University of West Florida or as i've been told the OTHER prestigous school in Florida.
