To troll...
Interesting, but nothing new really. Just like all other 'inovative' keyboards, this one will be useful for the carpal tunnel folk, but won't convert the mainstream user. The keyboard is about the least improved part of a computer ever, so I doubt anything will change until we get telepathy-enabled computers. In fact, the keyboard has been around since typewriters, so why would we ever change the design? The only really innovative keyboard design I have seen has been the Plycon Flex Keyboard as reviewed in this VH Review.

Check this out...
Check out the Virtual Hideout Cool Case gallery. I've linked to a page that has some pretty good internal pics of a case that someone built as a 'LAN party case' out of one of those metallic briefcases (look at the bottom of the page). There's quite a few more pics of similar mods people have done to accomadate LAN gaming, if you have time to look through the 1000+ pics they have in the gallery.

All I have to say is...http://www.designcomp.com they make completely clear acrylic cases. They're a tad on the expensive side, but damn cool.
Also, check out this galary of case mods to look at, I've got some very cool ideas from this site. Check out the last one on the main page.

The Point
I think a lot of readers are missing the point. This is all about having fun. I love compiling a kernel, or a new piece of software as much as the next guy; and I get a kick when one of my programs finally does whart it's supposed to. But there is really somehting great about having a Dremel in your hands, cutting a hole for a new fan. All of these sites, PCMODS, Virtual Hideout, and even [H]ard|OCP originally started out as places to exchange idea and tools for overclocking, and coooling. Once people get started it can be a lot of fun! Adding a couple of fans to my machine is great.. I can flip one switch on my machine and watch my Motherboard temperatures drop; and know that it's not because I went out and bought a lot of expensive stuff, but because I took the time to do something myself. It is a little about showing off, but a lot of it is about pride. The fact that you can admire your own handiwork, and just the fun of the experience!

Re:Linux Progress Patch
When it can be integrated into a users system in a matter of seconds is when people will start checking it out more.
Unfortunately, I'd guess that most people will start using it exactly when one of the big distros adopts it as standard. Oh well; they already have a Debian theme.
(Also, you need to put a ml at the end of the Energy Star link in this story).
And in case that page is as hugely slow to load for you as it is for me, here's Google's cache of it. The process is also described at:

Not the best page by far...
http://www.virtualhideout.net/ is a good starting point for Case Mod ideas.
The Cool Case Gallery has pictures of 161 mods (to date).
I think we have to give credit to gamers for driving the cool case idea a while ago (like the unreal case) but they've been left behind now by hardware nuts who don't care what runs on the computer, just how fast, how cool and how it looks.
