    Yes, with Cygwin and X it should be possible to forward this or any other X application. Just make sure your server (your /etc/ssh/sshd_config or equivalent file) has X Forwarding turned on, it should have "X11Forwarding yes" in the file. And that at the client end you are requesting X forwarding, by either making it the default action for ssh or by using the "-X" flag.

    Check out Spook an open source, highly customizable or embeddible streaming server. It is best paired with a firewire camera, but those can be had easily for $100; I love my UniBrain Fire-i camera. There is also a Freshmeat page on the project.

    Spook is a linux Video Streamer applicaiton. He goes in to and the in's and out's of the applicaiton, there is an active though quiet lately Mailing list that may answer many questions. The developer is also responsive to email when he he isn't compltetely swamped with other deadlines.

    Adblock is great, but paired with the Filterset.G Updater it is even more powerful! Filterset.G is a continuously updated list of ad sites/keywords, between the two you can remove nearly all ads from pages.

    The whole reason people prefer tape for backup over hard drives, is that you seperate the stoarge medium from the recording device. You therefore have an easier time recovering if something fouls one or the other.

    The tail is rigid but contains a wet portion with a cover on either side. In this wet section are a SeaBird CTD, a water pump, a backscatter sensor (for gorss biological counts), and two external oil bladders. At depth (~1000m) we pump oil from the internal reserves into these two external bladders. So yes you are right, unlike a submarine we ballast with a volume that is otherwise held inside the pressure case.

    The bladder doesn't fill with water it is filled with oil which is stored in internal resevoirs inside the pressure case. This shift in volume while maintaining a constant mass is what allows us to change the bouancy.

    Frankly, yes, we are very interested in specific features of the stream, especially the edges and fronts. We may not "mess with it" every 8 hours, but we do steer it toward interesting features or away from eddies.

    problem with solar is you have to elevate the cells above the surface, this poses a significant problem when you are trying to reduce drag as much as possible.

    The glider was launched off Bermuda, and will make a roundtrip from Bermuda to Nantucket and then return to Bermuda to be retreived early this summer.

    only three things matter:
    1) number of bodies that fit
    2) inability to removal tiles from below the floor
    3) proper ventilation

    now (1) you can stretch with a wood chipper, (2) can be safely taken care of with enough heavy equipment, but I can't stress the importance of number (3) enough....

    You can grow a small lemon tree in your office rather easily, keep in mind it will only bear about a dozen to a dozen and a half lemons a year, but it is different, and colorful.

    he never said we was in the US, I merely assumed that most routers listed 1-11, as every one I have bought has only allowed 1-11 by default (4 brands), you are however correct that 12-14 are intermediate channels, and so would likely encounter as much, if not more noise than he is currently experiencing, didn't think of that when I was posting.

    Get yourself a couple 802.11 cards, and have a good time using multiple neighbors connections at the same time, possibly even bonding your interfaces?

    If your router supports it, grab an open source firmware, and step outside the normal 1-11 channels. Channels 12 - 14 are almost guaranteed to be empty.
