Re:Beh. Who cares?
Ignoring that ``they shouldn't be doing that'', etc., the question is: Who cares? I may sound like a troll, but who in the hell cares for $0.75??? I never understand people who try to save every single penny per domain---that's just stupid.
In the USA of 1913, using the first Form 1040, most people paid between zero and one percent income tax. The very highest marginal rate was seven percent.
The lesson is: once they get their foot in the door, it's hard to keep them out. -
Re:Obligatory retort: give them a break!
Probably a box like this.

Re:Happy birthday to you...
That's why Mike Jittlov, creator of one the Best Damn Movies Ever Made, wrote his own birthday jingle and expressly entered it into the public domain.

Of course, for many people, "The Wizard" means....
....Mike Jittlov, the Wizard of Speed and Time.
If we're going to spend some time contemplating the deep philisophical meaning of the Fred Savage Nintendo Movie, then maybe we can set aside a few minutes to consider this fantastic film.
Over time, I've consistently held The Wizard of Speed and Time to be my number one film, trumping all others by a long shot. Certainly if your primary source of entertainment is a little box with a keyboard, then you can appreciate more than anyone the amount of work and care that this film shows in scene after scene. Jittlov is, basically, a master animator, and this story of a man trying to tell his dreams through filmmaking is both inspiring and entertaining.
For most people, the response to my mentioning this film is "Well, of course." but if you haven't heard of this film before, trust me, you're in for a treat. Mike Jittlov is a great guy personally, and a fantastic filmmaker professionally, and the more people who know about this incredible piece of work and bring it into their lives, the better.
Due to the usual vagaries of the film production business, Mike sees little or no financial reward from the versions of the film currently out there, so don't pay too much thinking it'll get back to him. But see this film. I risk breaking its back with the accolades I and others heap on it. -
WOSAT!
My vote goes for the Wizard of Speed and Time

THE WIZARD OF SPEED AND TIMEFans of WOSAT and the genius of Mike Jittlov know what I'm talking about. Look for an old VHS copy at your local video store, grab a laserdisc off E-Bay, do whatever is necessary to SEE THIS MOVIE!
Some info for those not familiar with it:

Wizard of Speed and Time
The work of the mad stop-motion master Mike Jittlov. I'm surprised I haven't seen it already from someone else...

Did you have a Wiz in the pool?
Was it really Mr. Shatner's house (well - swimming pool) that featured in the pool party scene in the Wizard of Speed and Time and did he have a screen cameo appearance that got left out because he only wanted to speak Esperanto?

WoSaT and reduced stress, that's what
My
/. sweetie's favorite film of all time is Mike Jittlov's Wizard of Speed and Time. He's got a laser disc copy but no disc player, so I got him a copy on VHS (from skinnyguy.com) so we can snuggle up and watch it on Valentine's Day. (I've never seen it all the way through.)
Additionally, I've tried to make the day as simple and stressfree for him; like many geeks I know, he's uncomfortable trying to plan something romantic. I suggested a restaurant I'd enjoy and planned the movie, to ensure he didn't have to worry about what would please me. -
"Effects in the cupboards, effects in the dishes!"
"There's a Wizard of Speed and Time
Steppin' out by the Hollywood Sign!
To sing the joy and love he's found,
And bring it all to Movie Town..!"
I can just picture this thing being inspired by Mike Jittlov's movie... -
Christmas stuffFirst I'd get a Visor (need to tell my wife she ordered me this Christmas present two weeks ago) -- this palm-clone has a bluetooth module in development!
Next I'd get a copy of The WIZARD of SPEED and TIME for the best geek film ever.
