Re:Midwest is hurting?
Yeah, because Wisconsin paid $200,000 per Foxconn job and waived environmental regulations for them.
I wouldn't call that a win.

Already in Wisconsin
Unfortunately, random images from your cell phone are already OK as "proof of residency" in Wisconsin. (See public radio article:

Re:Hunters and responsibility
From my observations, though, for every 1 responsible hunter there seem to be 10 irresponsible.
As a hunter, I would like to believe that those numbers would be reversed. The truth is that most hunters can be the most vocal environmental supporters. Let me also point you to this program.
I can't presume to speak for others, but for me, hunting can be a spiritual experience. To sit in silence and observe the nature all around -- there's a sort of bond I feel that can't quite be put into words. I have respect, and not a destructive attitude. I kill only when I have a reasonable shot at eligible game. Should I succeed, I do not do a jig about the corpse. I may be pleased with my results, but I'm simultaneously respectful of the life I've taken from the animal. Should my shot go astray, I make every reasonable effort to track wounded game, for miles if necessary. When the game is in my freezer at home and I pull out a carefully wrapped package, I have a connection with my food that many will never have with their frozen pre-packaged burgers or cutlets.

Re:I'm gonna..
Beware the boar taint. Listen to segment 1 for a fantastic related story (not for the faint of heart).
I'm sorry this stuff is very much all OT, but it's a fascinating story and I had to share it. You mentioned pig, so here we are.

I'm running for the US Senate in WI
challengeing incumbent Herb Kohl in the Democratic Primary. While i have yet to produce a podcast, you can grab this interview from Wisconsin Public Radio, recorded yesterday.
First half hour is Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal's Washington correspondent Craig Gilbert discussing the Senate race. Then, I'm on for the 2nd 1/2 hr.
Topics include cellphone location tracking, and the DOPA (Deleting Online Predators act), passed in the house last week, which would require schools and libraries to filter chatrooms andsocial networking sites.

Re:Electric fields cause fiscal irresponsibility
An electrician and a professor were interviewed for a show on Wisconsin Public Radio a few months ago (sorry, RM only). Apparently the filters are named after the electrician (David Stetzer, Graham-Stetzer filters). Their only evidence was a handful of case studies. After the show I found one company that sells these filters. I emailed them suggesting that, if their products are so effective and the problem is so widespread and serious, they should loan out their testing instruments and/or give a 90 day trial. I'm still waiting to hear back (since December).
