"Show us adblock can do more for added speed, security, reliability, & anonymity than hosts can, + that adblock does it more efficiently than hosts"
Which on my latter 'point-in-challenge' on efficiency AdBlock's proven by research to be MASSIVELY inefficient -> https://blog.mozilla.org/nneth... & adblock does FAR less than hosts (especially crippled by default).
I sent Wladimir Palant that challenge in response to his statement from 2 different email addresses I use!
Result = Still no answer from him in regard to my challenge put to him to this very day MONTHS later - that tell you anything? It did me!
He knows his addon is less efficient & features laden by FAR vs. hosts - Wladimir Palant RAN like a scared rabbit!

Could you provide some data to support that statement? Not that I think the roaming charges are reasonable (since they are completely disconnected from actual costs for the operators), but that would just mean that domestic charges should go up and international/roaming rates should go down.
Look for example at the Vodafone annual report (big PDF), income statement on page 96. On 38 bn UK pounds annual revenue, the made 5 bn loss (before taxes, not including the profitable sale of their stake in Verizon).
Or the T-mobile US numbers on 2014 (full year). Page 6: US$ 14 bn revenue; net income US$ 0.25 bn. That does not look like a hugely profitable business to me. Or the balance sheet on page 5: US$ 57 bn assets, and only US$ 16 bn of stockholder's equity; a ratio of 3.6:1, which I'd consider pretty large for a company that is not making a large profit and that has to deal with rapidly depreciating infrastructure.
Here's Verizon 2014 full year: US$ 127 bn revenue, US$ 12 bn net income. That looks more healthy. But look at the balance sheet: US$ 232 bn assets, and just US$ 14bn in equity (16:1 ratio). I would be very hesitant to invest in a company with such a balance sheet. To my surprise, the stock market thinks differently with a P/E of 21.
I'm not a finance expert, so if I misinterpret the numbers, please correct me.

Every other context that does not involve a "protected class". This is a fundamental right of businesses. A grocer can refuse to sell you anything at all for any reason at all (and this has been upheld by SCOTUS on a number of different contexts) so long as it does not violate the very specific exceptions (ie, protected classes-- race, disability, etc).

Where to begin? Unfortunately stupid people do not hold a monopoly on stupid decisions. Ever tried ordering lunch for an entire company? Scale that up to 300 million people and you may begin to appreciate the scope of the issue. Politicians don't magically slither into office, they're voted in. Ultimately it sounds like you don't want a politician but a leader, one who cannot make poor decisions meaning no compromising is allowed, since that results in stupidity, nor any dissent since only stupid people would go against the smart leader. There are minions of the state involved in falsifying test scores for financial gain, spanning over a decade, see the huge scandal in Georgia which affects tens of thousands of students.
I couldn't help but notice the source and targets for both of those links, HuffPo isn't exactly center, as tempting as it may be this is be to frame this as such it is by no means a partisan issue. There is a sustained and concerted effort by powerful monied interests spanning decades working on both sides of the aisle to undo this country and they successfully have us fighting one another. Only by working together will we get things done. -

Result? W. Palant RAN after he wrote me by email 1st saying "hosts are a shitty solution" to which I replied:
"Show us adblock can do more for added speed, security, reliability, & anonymity than hosts can, + that adblock does it more efficiently than hosts"
Which on my latter 'point-in-challenge' on efficiency AdBlock's proven by research to be MASSIVELY inefficient -> https://blog.mozilla.org/nneth... & adblock does FAR less than hosts (especially crippled by default).
I sent Wladimir Palant that challenge in response to his statement from 2 different email addresses I use!

"Show us adblock can do more for added speed, security, reliability, & anonymity than hosts can, + that adblock does it more efficiently than hosts"

Why is this a mystery?
First off, Google has no obligation to rank things in a way that you think is logical or beneficial. They can display their search results however the fuck they please, if you don't like them head http://www.yahoo.com/ still works fine.
There's an ISO-standard crapload of people out there making money "bolstering your search results for your website." Some of them have long term repeat customers, so it seems likely there is method to that madness.
Why the fuck would we assume that people WITHIN Google would not be experts at making sure their product ranked well? When I worked for a telco, when I had a problem with my phone, I unfairly walked down the hall, unfairly talked to truly expert technicians, who quite unfairly fixed it for me. Compared to how people outside my company got service it's terribly unfair and clearly the FTC should have been involved in that too. Not.
