Back in 2004 I wrote a novel about a fictional hacker utility which was the magic bullet of network penetration. The novel was called Z4CK and the unstoppable hacker tool with built in A.I. ran on a Zaurus SL-5500. Looks like this is all coming to fruition! Kevin Milne has published Z4CK: A SciFi Novel about a Zaurus Linux PDA recently. From the LinuxDevices review: "It's 2031, and Microsoft advertises Linux on Edinburgh's largest billboards. Duncan Steele roams a brave new world, besting technoproles and fighting to extricate himself from a bogus murder rap, his trusty Sharp Zaurus by his side. So begins a cyberthriller from Scottish security professional Kevin Milne.

IR Keyboards will work with lots of models. One guy has even written an entire book on a Sharp Zaurus.

Indeed "having a little 'store all my interesting media' device" not much bigger than just a portable audio player, but much more powerful, that's the way I like it, too. For example, you may use your Linux PDA not only to listen to "free" music, but also to view "free" pocket movies, to read a "free" eBook. Or the other way round, even generate your own media: writing a book (actually there is Z4CK a book written on a SHARP Zaurus Linux PDA already available), recording voices or music, take a picture, writing a program in the programming language of your choice, ...
