LinuxToday Astroturfing Explained

cigarky sent us Paul Ferris' account (fwiw, Paul is a good guy) of the LinuxToday astroturfing that we mentioned a few weeks ago. Much more explanation about how Executive Editor Kevin Reichard was posting numerous comments under numerous aliases on the LT forums. Even more scary is the editorial war regarding linking outside content. My opinion is that LT's only value was the outside content they linked: until Dave and later Paul left, they were the best url for finding comprehensive Linux news. A real eye-opening piece about "Journalism" and Internet.com. (Note: LT and Internet.com are sorta competitors, although I never really cared much. My opinions are probably skewed somehow because of that ;))

Interesting that you consider the nine months in the womb to be part of life. I am glad to see you are a supporter of the Pro-Life agenda since abortion would be murder(because the fetus is a life), as you yourself alluded to.

Just this a.m. (4am m.s.t.), I sent a question to Linuxtoday, but with this article, it sounds like I should post here instead. I remembered some issue with jobs.osdn.com being M$. But when I checked it with netcraft.com, it come NOTHING, nada, zip, zero, zilch. Checking it with telnet, shows M$/iis 5.0, but nothing on netcraft. This says that they are blocking. So, are all the companies out here acting like M$ and ZifDavis? Why does OSDN hide the fact that they are doing M$. In fact, when writing to linuxtoday, I was more curious about why OSDN is running M$. If they can fill us in, then we can create software. Or perhaps, this is the time to spend money on coders rather than on poor software. G. Richard Raab rraabNO@SPAMplusten.com

Yes, does appear to be IIS on Windows, but it also appears that they do not themselves operate jobs.osdn.com, but rather farm it out to a subcontractor.
