Interoperable P2P: Jxta

Troy writes: "This article went up today (on developerWorks) about the Open Source project called Jxta, which is a community-run attempt to build a utility application substrate for peer-to-peer applications. Anything with an electronic heartbeat can become a Jxta peer." A nice high-level overview of how Jxta is supposed to work.

    Hooray, you people figured out another conduit through which to pipe your stolen goods and kiddie porn. Pat yourselves on the back.

    No serious web browser, no serious database, no serious anything, but you can steal with the best of them. Pirate anime wants to be free, and all that.

    Why in hell is everyone and every company against Microsoft?! Who cares if only MSN appears on the desktop? It's Microsoft's OS, so why should they have to include stuff from other companies? If AOL and friends want their junk on people's desktop, why don't they write their own OS?! Microsoft worked for a damn long time on their's, no shit little half-assed newcomers can't beat them!
