Next-Gen Apples To Include 1394b, USB 2.0

seletz writes: "According to this article on The Register, Apple will ship its next-generation PowerMacs with USB 2.0 and double FireWire. USB 2.0 boosts data transfer up to 480Mbps, FireWire 1394b goes up to 3.2Gbps." It may seem a minor point, but the more and faster connections are built in, the less frequently the upgrade gremlins have to strike. 3.2Gbps!

    these benifits are offset nicely by the fact you have to run OS X on the damned thing.

      Well, the lameness filter has definately had an impact on Slashdot discussion:

      It's prevented the posting of many actual comments while not preventing people from some very simple crap.

      At least Slashdot has stopped running anti-censorware stories - they might as well be bought out by one, with the use the lameness filter has.

    Macs fucking suck... windows is the way to go... bill gates may be a dick, but at least his operating system doesn't crash that much... win-2000, which I have been running for months hasn't crashed once... whaddya think of dat you lame-mac users! In fact I'll pit my win2000 server against any ofya's crappy linux operating systems ANY DAY... come get some sucka!
