Now maybe we can set up a decent mirror for the LOTR trailer..
uh oh.... you made a negative comment about Linux... prepare to be modded down with extreme prejudice.
Just imagine a Beowulf cluster of these things!
How is this funny? It makes no sense linux and BSD have nothing to due with a solid system like Solaris. I mean haven't you been seeing the reports that while Sun has managed to hold its own in these tough time most companies using or involved with Linux will be gone in a few months?
Blasphemy! I call on all Slashdotters to declare Jihad on this infidel for speaking evil words!
I've been submitting this story since 10:30 (Eastern Time) this morning when information became available from sun.com about the starcat. Three submissions and all three rejected, and then after my third rejection, this finally gets posted.

Dear CmdrTaco,
On behalf of everyone who has grown out of reguritating years old comments, please add detection for the words "imagine" and "beowulf" to the lameness filters.
Thanks,
Would have been a good troll if you didn't make it so damn obvious.

please add detection for the words "imagine" and "beowulf" to the lameness filters.
That seems kind of computationally intensive given how often those words are used here.

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...
Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
imane all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

the ascii/goatse/frost piss/beowulf/*BSD is dying trolls would still get through .
Eww... I just realized that "Sun Starcat" is an anagram of "Anus Tracts". And "Starfire" is "Farts rise". When you think of Sun just remember:
Anus tracts, and farts rise.
shudder
Congrats on playing both the "I don't get it" guy, and troll in the same paragraph. I am truly impressed.
hehe, that made my day.
No, I think "descent" performance is what you get right after you throw your computer out the window.

hmmm...hehe
Anyone wanna run a Gnotella server on one of these?
You could probably create a compiler with VB. I doubt if you could use it to create an OS. Its powerful, but its also very deeply intertwined with Windows.
