Sun Releases Starcat

SilentChris writes: "Sun has released the Starcat server, a beast with up to 106 processors running Unix. Anyone have an extra couple [million] bucks lying around?" They're not cheap.

    How is this funny? It makes no sense linux and BSD have nothing to due with a solid system like Solaris. I mean haven't you been seeing the reports that while Sun has managed to hold its own in these tough time most companies using or involved with Linux will be gone in a few months?

    That seems kind of computationally intensive given how often those words are used here.

    There are those that have invested way too much time in VB to learn anything else. Its pretty scary when you use VB, actually decent as a scripting language, to program the Windows API, but there are those that do it.


    You could probably create a compiler with VB. I doubt if you could use it to create an OS. Its powerful, but its also very deeply intertwined with Windows.
