Europe Adding RFID Tags to Euro Currency

An EETimes article a few days ago reports that the European Central Bank is planning to add RFID tags to euro bank notes. This would allow each bill to be tracked whenever it is used, and if the chip includes writable memory, to even record its own history.

    Linux will officially move into the "who gives a shit" column. Now that Microsoft is free to rape and pillage, no one will give a rats ass about supporting a secure, stable alternative that really has little going for it outside of security and stability.

    That said, GNOME and KDE will likely bring the Linux desktop holdouts into line with Windows 95, with Mozilla being the only marginally competitive desktop app supported on the platform.

    Open source advocates will continue to push linux as everything to everybody, which will loosely translate to nothing for anybody.

    Heck, for all I know a well-equipped hacker/mugger will be able to spot targets using them.

    Yes, and fortunately for the mugger his potential victim would be unarmed as most countries in the EU are scared of guns.

    At least here in the USA if for some reason the same RFID proposal came to pass here and the mugger wanted to scan for potential targets they'd also need to check for a gun.

    He has an uncle who works for MS, and a brother who is a multi-millionaire.

    (Seeing as he can't afford his own apartment, I guess he's not on terribly good terms with his brother.)

      actually, i had figured that dfeldman was a troll from the very beginning, and was trollbusting you every time. i wrote this one, and I'm pretty proud to get it up to +3.

      Good job though. This shit was pretty funny for awhile. The amount clueless moderators and clueless (l)users here are so ridiculous.
