MS Struggles to Discredit Linux

PrimeNumber writes "The Register has this interesting story about a supposedly "leaked" email from Microsoft Windows division VP Brian Valentine. Although half of it is admittedly suit/rah rah speak, the interesting nuggets mention use of Microsofts "Sun and Linux insiders"." The whole email is pretty funny actually.

    Gee, it's not like the Linux crowd has been trying to do this to Microsoft for the past 10 years or anything. ;p

      There are plenty of valid reason to choose Linux over Windows in the server market, and the Linux community doesn't have to secretly go around telling people that. Linux is open, and in more than source code.

      The closed-source attitude of Micro$oft reflects their nature... secretive, creepy, plotting your downfall, baby slaughtering... etc.

      What Micro$oft does is to go to people privately, tell them a load of crap, and convince them that Windows is secure, cheap, and beneficial for them. Microsoft have changed the minds of Governments that were ready to switch to Linux, makes you wonder what they did. Anyway, whatever it is, they're keeping it secret, so obviously it's a pile of trash they're feeding to gullible people. This should prompt countries to ask the question... "What is an technically ignorant jerk doing running our country! Are you going to cause us Billions of bucks worth of trouble so that you can have that fantastic, world-reknowned Micro$oft Windows?". It's funny that the operating is called "Windows", as that's generally where burglars enter. Am I getting somewhere here folks? Amen?

      If they really had a stand against Linux, don't you think Micro$oft would spread the word? As far as I've seen, the only open attacks upon Linux have been FUD, and that even from the likes of head honcho's Gates and Ballmer (the cancer guy).

      Micro$oft pray on the dumb, gullible, and ignorant. Well, that's how it appears. Of course, if Micro$oft would like to tell us in detail how they plan to change people from Linux to Windows, maybe we'll all see the light and scrap Linux...

      Micro$oft, it's over to you.

    Linux is, at best, a toy operating system. At worst it is the kind of subversive force in America that Stalin only dreamed of creating.

    There are "cells" reporting to unknown leaders that only go by names like "L33t_Kernal_Hax0r" that cannot be located - after all, "living in my momma's basement cause I have no real world skills to speak of" is not a true street address.

    There is the Marxist concept of "give what you can, take what you need." Only, none of these people can give anything, excepting the few heroes of the revolution that have their own roach filled apartments and must give blow jobs in parks monthly to meet their rent. Yet, they all feel the need to take, take, take. MP3s? "We must have them! It is about freedom for the artists!!" Software? "We must have it for free! It will be good then!!" Movies? "Yes, we must have them for free!!!" Of course, the dirty secret all of these "give it to me free!!!" people are trying to hide is that they have no resources to actually acquire anything legitimate, due to their pathetic skill set and the fact that society has no use for them.

    Society, in fact, had no use for them even during their formative years. That's why their lunch money was stolen. Darwin's law was trying to assert itself, but overprotectively indulgent parenting prevented such a thing from happening.

    Yup, I keep trying to see what vomit /. can come up with...there are hardly any other original stories or postings. Taco vomits, you guys eat it. I found other weblogs/threads and now sticking w/ that... /. is past tense, move on. taco drink too much beer on job, no job with beer taco, no job taco beer, job + taco + beer = /.

    The email is real. Let's get this straight as all the M$ poseurs who moderate and post daily on /. have already tried to tell us this email from Valentine is a hoax. Just to clue you in, refering to a journalists article as a hoax is slanderous at worst. Not that it has stopped M$ in the past.

    It's well known that M$ has been waging a war against anyone in thier market. An unfair war, the sort that gets you into a courtroom in front of a supreme court judge. They have called Open Source "communist" and a "cancer" on the industry. I kid you not (all reported on /. in the past).

    What we have is one of the richest companies on the planet using every weapon at thier disposale to destroy a grassroots, free, and humanistic movement. Open Source. And they do it with the rightious conviction that the IT market belongs to them and no one else. Ever.

    Those of you from M$ (or it's PR firm) posting here should do us all a favour and get a real job. A job where you can be proud of who you work with and what you do. Trust me, posting lies for your Corp. isn't one of them.
