You know, you can install 2.4 on any debian box. Sure, it's not as easy as installing an rpm, but I'd rather install a new kernel by hand than try to fix RPM Hell.

I like updates on *new* software occasionally, but does bug fixes to a distro really qualify as "stuff that matters" to the majority of the slashdot readership?

    I will have to agree.

I made some very valid points and was mod-ded up

but then i was modded down to zero because there was some that dis-agreeded. The Point is dis-agreement otherwise there is no DEBATE

WE SHOULD NOT BE MODDED DOWN BECAUSE WE DEBATE

Seriously Debain is just too out of touch will the needs of linux users. If they ever want to get beyond 5% of the linux market, they need more frequent releases. But hey if they want to be the Openbsd of linux,ie I'm great buy no one uses me, fine.

Did you ever notice how arrogant Debain users are too? I swear If I hear one more "Well I just use APT" Im gonna hunt you down and shove your POS distro up your arse.
