Mars Odyssey Completes Aerobraking
Cally writes: "Space.com reports that
Mars Odyssey has
completed aerobraking and is ready to begin its
main science mission. As the spacecraft has already produced exciting results before the start of the science mission proper, interesting data on the quantities of water in the Martian crust may be expected soon - not to mention that Odyssey provides another datapoint in the study of Gamma Ray bursts."
Take that, cyborg_monkey!
Oh well, back to dowloading pr0n...

I claim this post in the name of Spain!
but does nasa have any long term goals?
What are we trying to achieve.
I'm not looking for troll points, but am actually curious. Human colonization is quite unlikely due to the plant being so close to the Sun.
Other then a place to live, does a planet such as this offer any benefit to us?
...but I want to know if Roy Scheider got any further with the Russian babe this time, or if he just got another peck on the cheek.
We can see those sexy princesses from Helium!!!
CDE open sourced! https://sourceforge.net/projects/cdesktopenv/
You know what? You can just go FUCK YOURSELF SCUMBAG!
I was going to comment on the martians and the satellite and CmdrTaco being a fag but you did before I could.
I salute you fellow troll!

P.S. My proxy is slow goddammit!
If these engineers and scientists weren't preoccupied with their little space experiments
then they would be out roaming the streets, preying on innocent children, and frightening
women. Its better this way. Sure we could lock them all up, but there's always the chance they
might produce something useful like a robotic sex slave.
Those formkeys are a bitch as well

Es la primera contestación a la primera contestación al primer mensaje! Jajaja!
This is the most sensible and resonable question anyone has ever posted on these wasteful missions to Mars. Didn't we loose billions already in the prior missions? And now we have Republicans and Democrates bitching about the aids package and military packages when those are less than the amount wasted on sensless missions to Mars.
Thank you for your insight and your organization's goals of achieving piece through reason.
This is a very interesting question. Being a Nerd, I would be most interested in seeing things in Mars, but you're question has made me think and wonder just what exectly my values are. I wish I could answer your question, but I couldn't. Hope you get a better reply, and I hope you are mod up so others can see your most thought provking question. Undoubtbly, parent question is probably the best slashdot post I've seen in a few days. And it's great to have non geeks use slashdot. Also kru5shin is great too.
Repeat after me, -1, Redundent
I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.
Do we hate NASA this week or not???
: )
[PowerPoint] is a tool for capitalist presentation
For once I agree with you!
BTW, while looking on rotten.com, I saw a huge shit, about 10 or so feet long. If I had the link I would post it but I don't. Sorry 'bout that.

My post was *not* redundant. There were no other posts when I posted it, and right after I posted it there were a grand total of three posts, including mine (the other two were trolls). Therefore mine was one of the first three posts to this story, so where do you get off calling it "redundent" [sic]?
