India Plans A Supercomputing Grid
An Anonymous Coward writes: "According to this article at CNET, India is building a country-wide High Speed Network. Named the "I-Grid" (I is for 'Information' silly !), its a feat for the Indians who have been bogged down by U.S. sanctions in the recent past -- besides, with a country as big as theirs, its one helluva project!"
Holy shit, no one cares about that third-world shithole. I don't care if they have 1/8 of the world's population, that place is a toilet.

Sorry pal, but people from India are not called Indians (Polish are called Poles but people from Holland are not called Holes either). Indians are Hindus, even though not everybody practices the Hindu religion.... Manuel PS Holland people==Dutch people

From the article:
"Such a grid would share or combine diverse computer memories and software in parallel processes to aid environmental modeling, fast analysis of satellite images, advanced chip design and simulation of heavy-duty equipment like turbines."
I think it's interesting how when one nuclear agressive country imports Playstation 2's we freak the fuck out, but when another nuclear agressive country creates the worlds largest supercomputing grid we say, Bravo!
Ah well, such is life.

Man... if India can build a super computer that big the could run Nuclear simulations and someday build a Nuclear bomb!
Are they talking about the bordello?
Actually I think they'll use it to calculate the optimal consistency of a 7-11 slurpy.

HERE IN AFGHANISTAN WE
ARE DEVELOPING HIGH SPEED
COMPUTER NETWORK FOR OUR
RECYCLED C64 AND DONATED
PENTIUM PCS. WITH THIS
WE WILL BE VERY ABLE TO
CONTRIBUTE TO WAR EFFORT
AGAINST AXIS OF EVIL.
IN KABUL NOW US MARINES
ARE HELPING US CONFIGURE
NETWORK USING 14.4
MODEMS AND OLD PCS THAT
WERE IN EMBASSY BEFORE RISE
OF WARLORDS.
GOOD LUCK TO INDIA, MAYBE
WE WILL CONNECT OUR NETWORKS
TOGETHER!

HI,
Do lower cast indians get 300 baud modems at least?
having worked as an intern in CDAC (in their core laboratory) i can honestly tell you that CDAD is an open civilian agency. their core lab is at University of Pune campus and you are very welcome to go there, take a pass and have a look around! (in fact yes, I have seen many US computer scientists there and many CDAC scientists are visiting professors to Univs in US, in fact my boss there was a visiting prof at MIT). Another inidan agency known as BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Corporation) also makes supercomputers in India (they are called the Anupam range of computers) and these are the ones most porbably used for military purposes. India is not China, there is no lies and things are open for anyone and everyone to see :)
Sure we can. Those fucking sand niggers.
