Updated Slashdot Advertising Policy

In response to increased advertiser demand, we have decided that we will post one story a day paid for directly by our advertisers.     Okay, the story didn't say it so I have to ask...

    If I subscribe do I still need to read this crap?

    The fact is I don't mind "tech" oriented banner advertising.. but mixing things in with stories is an awful idea; I mean even the National Enquirer doesn't mix advertisements in looking like stories.

    So if I subscribe do I have to read the crap, and if I subscribe, how much further is Slashdot going to sell out?

    Pfft...i knew this was going to happen sooner or later. and don't lie to us /., its not about increased advertiser demand, its about you needing more cash.

    Its also wonderful that you disabled anonymous posting, so people who have something negative to say about mods, or /. in general won't be able to hide from their karma being killed or being $tblr'd (is what its called? i cannot remember).

    I agree, man. This is about as funny as taking a hot iron to a burn patient and screaming "April Fools!" just before applying the wool setting to the terrified victim's skin grafts.

    I think it's sad that such an outrageous prank will ultimately turn out not to be funny, but that's the price of selling out, Taco.
