Microsoft's Overlooked Code Theft
Like2Byte was one of many readers to point out that "Newsforge is reporting that Microsoft was fined by a French court for three million francs "because it illegally included another company's proprietary source code in SoftImage 3D," something which (as the story points out) went mostly unremarked at the time. This is one of the points mentioned by Peruvian Senator David Villanueva Nuñez in his response to Microsoft FUD.
Oh yah, because ALL GPL code must work flawlessly right?

Will you guys just STFU already!? Seriously. For people who dislike Microsoft so much, it seems to be all you can talk about. Granted, they have done some somewhat shady things, but for fuck's sake, what corporation hasn't? There are much worse companies that have caused death, injury or MUCH worse. Microsoft writes software.
It seems like a majority of the stories on this site are either how evil corporations are, or how the man is out to get you.
Get over Linux already. It's a fucking operating system, not a way of life.
Perhaps if you had some un-biased reporting around here, things would be different. Microsoft does a lot of good things, but I don't recall EVER seeing them mentioned here. Not that it matters to me, but it seems that every time you can find some nit-picky shit about how "M$" has given somebody a displeasing look, it becomes a news story.
So guys...Get up, get out of the house, and go join your friends if you have any. They're probably already in line for Star Wars.
But what they learned from "the Stacker incident" is that crime pays. And if you have the lawyers that MS has, and don't have any ethics that you count as worth anything, then they may be right.
