Jornada Killed, iPaq To Live On
MartinG writes "According to the news at handhelds.org "HP/Compaq merger completed. HP Jornada will be discontinued in favor of HP iPAQ. HP Labs will continue to support Linux on the iPAQ. In particular, we plan to complete the Linux port to the Jornada 56x." I couldn't see any further details, but interesting news nonetheless."
I would like the Slash-dot readership to know that I have never, and will never purchase an HP or Compaq handheld. The reason is that the handhelds are unfairly bundled with Windows CE operating system software. I tried to purchase one without paying this Microsoft tax, and they refused to sell it.
As a result, I am now boycotting all products and services of the HP and the Compaq. If you have any concern for human rights, I strongly recommend that you do the same.
You almost pulled that joke off... Note that the headline is "Jornada killed", so Jornada is probably innocent of its own murder (though stranger things have happened...). Also, a conservatory is a school of the arts, right? Maybe you are thinking of observatory? I believe Clue has one of those. The compact flash memory card was good, and would have been a great punchline, if I hadn't been distracted by the aforementioned errors.
Karma: Good (despite my invention of the Karma: sig)
This is slashdot, I don't have to read or correctly cite the article if I don't want to.
nyah nyah.
