Linux To Run Sherwin-Williams Cash Registers

    a company switches their registers over to linux and people jump up and cheer because open source just bagged one more customer, give me a fucking break.

    Yes, because I want my .doc files which I have spent a considerable amount of time applying formatting styles to;(tables, bullet lists, bold and italic where required, headers/footers, etc, etc) converted to plain text!

    If I wanted my documents to be plain text than I would have used notepad!

    The question is WHY should I "upgrade" to linux????

    I'm using Win98, Word98 on my PII 400 and have been doing so for the past 4 years,

    Why would I want to change to an OS where I have to use plain old text for my word processing?

    About a day. The store clerks will be writing receipts by hand due to linux crashing all the time like the garbage that it is. You linux zealots need to wake up and learn the truth: Microsoft will *always* be better than linux. If it's free then it's worthless garbage. You get what you pay for.
