Ancient Skull Unearthed in Africa
BrianGa writes "This BBC article reports on
a skull which scientists say is the most important discovery in the search
for the origins of humankind since the first
Australopithecus ape-man remains were found in Africa in the 1920s.
The newly discovered skull finally puts to rest any idea that there might be a single missing link between humans and chimpanzees, they say. Analysis of the
ancient find is not yet complete, but already it is clear that it has an
apparently puzzling combination of modern and ancient features."

VA Software Founder Resigns from Board
By Karol Kingsley
Larry Augustin, founder and former C.E.O of VA Software, Monday resigned from the company's board of directors, citing personal reasons.
Augustin founded the open source development
company December of 1993 and served as its chief
executive officer from the start through
July 2002.
Augustin's idea to create a full-service development service with an easy-to-use Web site is inspirational, noted Ali Jenab, president and chief operating officer of VA Software. "He was the catalyst behind a state-of-the-art software-management system, and fleet of custom advertising delivery sites that provide, efficient targeted online marketing and delivery venues," Jenab said. "Larry's vision remains the guiding force behind VA today."
"On behalf of all VA Software shareholders,
employees and customers, I want to thank Larry
for his foresight and the tremendous
contributions he has made to our company. We wish
him well in any future endeavors."
VA's board of directors presently is comprised
of: Andre M. Boisvert Chairman, Sagent
Technologies; Ram Gupta Executive Vice President,
Products and Technology, PeopleSoft; Ali
Jenab President and Chief Operating Officer, VA
Software; Douglas Leone Partner, Sequoia Capital;
Robert M. Neumeister, Jr. Chief Financial
