    Sci-Fi is a pejorative term for the sort of crap "pseudo" sf the likes of Star Trek and the late Doctor Who. This guy is definately an honourable practitioner of SF, "Hard SF" in fact, which is the highest level of the genre. And one more thing, do you think it is possible for Slashdot to post an SF related post without some completeyl lame Star Trek reference? I know the slashdot editors are starved for culture, but Star Trek is really the absolute pits (along with anime, a ratshit derivative and dead style that was only created to sell childrens toys). Try reading a few books for inspiration. And I don't mean Terry-bloody-Pratchett.
