Ripping Vinyl Via Your Scanner?
An anonymous reader writes "This site describes a method of extracting audio off of scanned images of vinyl records. Kazaa vinyl swapping is on it's way!" While this method creates exceptionally noisy samples, you can definitely hear the underlying music.
Yse, speel chequing is a must for posting something everyone cna reaad. :-)
Saskboy's blog is good. 9 out of 10 dentists agree.
Why did this guy get modded down--? it's hysterical.!
Has anyone else noticed that CowboyNeal and Harry Knowles look exactly the same?
Here's the proof:

Spooky!
Will this work with vinyl too? Seriously, yesterday we ripped into Prince for his 733t-speak, accusing him of continuing the degradation of the English language. Today we post more articles with atrocious misspellings. I can forgive an occasional mistake, but misspelling vinyl as vinile strikes me as more than a minor mistake.
Stop the Slashdot Effect! Don't read the articles!
no, but they're too busy moderating down posts they don't agree with.
He got modded down because moderators, in general, are a bunch of humorless assholes. That's why.
I still don't understand why anyone would be so arrogant as to moderate someone DOWN in any case.
As my father lik@(munch munch)...
Is it just me - or does everyone notice that vinile rhymes with senile and penile ?
It's fun here at 0 though! Don't have to worry about folks modding me down now. =)

Everyone used to tell me it meant "Spelled in Context"... whatever that meant.

sorry, I meant Rob Malda
Do the /. editors actually read /. or know how to use a spell checker? I really don't think so...

Why do you reply to your own thread referring to yourself in the third person? Seems a little strange to me. The fact that you find yourself so 'hysterical' that you need to question the acts of the moderators in such a way shows that you've got quite an inferiority complex. That, or it's a bizarre coincidence that your name is asdfasdfasdfasdf while the parent of the thread is joejoejoejoe. Not to mention your user ID's show a difference of 26 users. Hmm...

Almost every post I've had in the past 4 months modded +3 or better has had an Overrated mod tacked on. It's almost always a funny post that some humorless prick has decided was not funny even though three other people had found it funny enough to spend a point on.
Note to every other slashdotter: If you're modding more than one post down a month, you're probably an asshole. I can't remember the last time I modded down.

Fooling slashdot's editors into posting a hoax...
Pretty fucking easy.
That's a really good point... Usually a lot of submitters can't spell or f**k up the link or don't tell all the story, and then, of course, the ACs come out of the woodwork.. Isn't Taco usually pretty good about not quoting the submitters? I know one of the editors is... But I don't see his stories on the mian page that often...

no one cares that you are dumb
And then someone mods you offtopic. That's ironic, eh? I suppose this post is also. Goodbye Karma, it's been fun!
Not just offtopic, but twice offtopic with an overrated thrown in for good measure. Haters. Two hundred more of those and I won't be able to post at 2. Ruh roh.

what the heck - I can't link this news to how horrible MS products are. But let me bash some -
I have not heard of, or seen, in real color or scanned, a product that MS sold, that is worth the shrink wrap.
