So we have a thread to talk about how much we like Netflix and hate Comcast. Were you expecting some kind of insightful content or intelligent discussion here? It's not 2003 anymore.
The fact that everything is valid when put to a vote is why that stuff can change though, rather than saying "No no no, GOD wants slavery, so you can't just 'vote' it away, that's blasphemy."
Like most modern libertarian ideas, that one was tried in the late 19th century, and went terribly. You just end up with an army of private contractors who have even less oversight.
A huge problem with the Concorde was noise restrictions on sonic booms. It could only really fly from one coastal city to another, namely NY and DC to London and Paris. They tried a subsonic Dallas to DC connecting leg and it failed miserably. The article mentions this in passing, and ignores what a huge deal it is.
Building a large supersonic airplane has never been the problem. Operating a supersonic airplane profitably in the modern air travel market is the problem, and I don't see any indication that these guys have solved that one.
It's weird how nobody ever accuses an Anonymous operation of being a false flag while it's in the early boasting phase. Then it's always "Anonymous is going to fuck them up good this time". After that operation turns into a huge failure, then it was clearly a false flag from the beginning.
The vast majority of new oil production added to the global market over the past 10 years is from the US. Saudi production is up 7%. US production is up 60%.
I own a Leaf in the desert southwest. Being able to turn on the AC from your phone is fantastic. The difference between getting into an 80 degree car and a 120 degree car is pretty huge.
one of the few govt agencies that is actually trying to do consumers some good and they are overreaching?
Remember when everyone was calling Tom Wheeler, and by extension Obama, shills that were in the pocket the of the cable industry?
That's been Uber's plan since day 1.
Why are you comparing these two companies?

Did you see Watson demolish Ken Jennings on Jeopardy?
IBM didn't do all of that R&D to impress Alex Trebec. The plan is for Watson to replace customer service reps.
Is anybody actually interested in interacting with machines via chatbots?
Have you ever waited 10 minutes to chat with an uninterested customer service rep who barely spoke your language? Bots would be an improvement.
In an average day, how many times do you mention that you don't have a Facebook account?

If that was true, we wouldn't need a constitution. The current popularly elected government would be right about everything.
And in the US, nobody "voted away" slavery. There was a big war about it. It was a whole chapter in your high school social studies textbook.
Was it confirmed that the FBI bought it from an Israeli company?
We have a Judicial Branch that enforces that.
You're right. Paying 4 times as much for gas is much smarter.

I went to a Trump rally. It was about 40% brown peoples. Your move, ignoramus.
Hmmm...50% of Mobile, Alabama's 200,000 residents are black. But none of them seemed to make it to Trump's rally there.

From Iowa in 2008 nobody expected Obama to win anything, then, every state after that where Obama won it was an "upset" to the establishment.
That's not true. Obama led all of the polls after Super Tuesday in mid February.

As of right now, Clinton is well ahead of Trump in head to head polls.

I have no idea why you think that's comparable.
I just showed you that the "Saudi price war" is made up bullshit.
They saw the free market currency bitcoin and felt it threatened their precious dollar
That explains why the dollar has plummeted in value over the past two years and BTC has skyrocketed.
Wait....that hasn't happened at all.
The other, closely related one, is that it works anywhere and for any purpose.
Ehhh...not really.

>Users have been reporting that their transaction times have been slowing down, in some cases from 10 minutes to more than 40 minutes.
No retail merchant is going to accept a payment option that takes 40 minutes to process.

Now if we could only get the cool technology developed for something other than our war with Eastasia thanks.
Like the internet and GPS?
"SQL Server" is a product name.

That's a very well known issue solved by material selection.
This is true. But the materials you have to select are crazy expensive, and increased demand will only increase those costs.
