Privacy Leak in Mozilla and Mozilla-Based Browsers

Mike S. writes "Mozillazine has pointed users to this story at ZDNet UK which breaks the news about a privacy bug discovered in in all Mozilla builds up to and including 1.2a as well as browsers based on Mozilla such as Netscape 6/7, Chimera and Galeon. The bug allows a web site to track where you're going when leaving the site whether you use a link, a bookmark or type a URL into the address field. This page has a demonstration of the bug and instructions on patching it via a user.js file."

Is is possible that Microsoft is funding the project to under open source? Is it possible that the only reason the Mozilla project got done so fast is that it had Microsoft money backing it? Hmmmm... something to think about

Tulkarm man kills mother over 'Jewish lover'
    By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Miriam Sufan, 46, was stabbed to death by her son in downtown Tulkarm on Wednesday evening, because he suspected she was having an affair with a Jewish man, according to reports.

The son, Adnan, told passersby that his mother was a traitor because she was having an affair with a Jew.

"He was walking with his mother hand-in- hand, when he suddenly drew a big knife and started stabbing her in the chest and face," according to shopkeeper who saw the killing. "It was a big shock for many people who happened to be in the market buying food before the Israeli army reimposes the curfew on the city."

Another shopkeeper who also witnessed the killing said that at first he thought the woman was a collaborator. "You know, we have become used to hearing about women who work with the Israeli Shin Bet," he said. "That's why when the young man started stabbing the woman, no one wanted to help here. We thought the killer was a member of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades."

The woman died shortly after arriving at hospital. They said she had been stabbed at least 15 times in different parts of the body.

The killing took place as dozens stood by, even as the victim, a mother of five, called for help, a Tulkarm resident said. She said that only after the son fled the scene did a medical team approach the bleeding woman.

The son was later arrested by the Tulkarm police, which described the murder as a "killing with a background of honor."

This phrase refers to murders where a male relative, usually a brother or father, kills a woman under the pretext that she has committed adultery or another "moral offence."

A police official said yesterday that the son told police that he killed his mother because she had married a Jew named Shomron who lives in nearby Netanya.

A source close to the family said the woman was divorced and had moved to Israel several years ago. The source would neither confirm nor deny that the victim had married a Jew. "She was on a visit to her family in Tulkarm," the source said. "She didn't have a clue her son was planning to murder her. On Wednesday, people saw them walking happily, hand-in-hand in the central bus station. It's not clear what led the son to commit this crime."

Sufan was the third woman killed in Tulkarm in the past month. Ikhlas Khouli, a 36-year-old mother of seven, was executed by Fatah gunmen after she allegedly confessed to working with Israeli security forces. Her 19-year-old niece, Raja Abu Omar, was executed a week later after similar allegations.

Two other suspected collaborators were gunned down in the Tulkarm area over the past 48 hours. Fatah claimed responsibility for the killings, saying it would continue its campaign against Palestinian who help Israel.

In my city in america (home to the first world trade center bombers and egyptian president murdering conspirators, who still somehow got visas, shady usa agencies i'm looking in your direction) a muslim father decided to stab his wife and mother of three (a hindu) to death becuase she wasn't raising the children "as proper muslims". Then he proceeded to flee to canada, where he was busted on the border. Ya Islam it's a religion of peace! Just like jesus saves! (after your entire civilization has been raped, tortured and plundered, then he saves what's left for some europeans). The abrahamic religions (Islam, Judiasm and Christianity) have been responsible for more atrocities and war crimes than hitler, the cia and pol pot combined.

Hey at least Ariel Sharon is a man of peace, that's why he orders 1 ton bombs to be dropped on residential areas in order to kill one person (without trial or any rights, just death) and screw the 100s of innocent people who live there. Good thing he's a man of peace, I'd hate to see what kinda shit he would do if he was a man of violence!

    Either that, or Opera.

I'd switch to Konqueror in a heartbeat if it supported a way to hand off the URL of a link to another program, though. I love Konqueror, but I love Downloader for X more.

Offtopic, but did are KDE developers going nuts on optimizations? Built 3.0.3 yesterday, and it just flies on my old K6-500.

I'm currently developing a javascript based framework that relies on a few open child windows. Creating a list of open windows has been done, but I'm not exactly happy with the codebase. This is my first experience with JavaScript. What method do you use for knowing which child windows have been open and their status?
