Examining the Antikythera Mechanism
Mr. Droopy Drawers writes "An ancient piece of clockwork shows the deep roots of modern technology. Found in 1900 off the coast of Antikythera, Greece, a clockwork mechanism was found to be a device for calculating the motion of the earth and planets. In an article in The Economist, Michael Wright, the curator of mechanical engineering at the Science Museum in London, says the device demonstrates mechanical principles that were thought not devised until the 17th century. The article quotes research done by Derek Price. Here's Mr. Price's article from Scientific American. Also found some quicktime movies of the mechanism at The University of Macedonia. Very interesting reading."
That's Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol.
I'm pretty stoned, so pardon the typos. First post, by the way. Any posts below it (including this one) are teh ghey.

Can this run Linux?
sir bard
It's channel 356 on Dish Network's Pacific Time Zone network.
I think it's Starz Family Edition or something. STZFE is the channel code.
There's only 23 minutes left. The balloon scene is coming up, so you'd better get watching.

a beowulf cluster of these!
I remember Dr. Price being a warm, funny man, easygoing, but absolutely fastidious when it came to amassing evidence for research. I am convinced that any miscalcualtion on his part was the result of simple human error, rather than an attempt to "tweak" the facts. I only wish Dr. Price were here to defend himself.
I remember once, when we were working on my dissertation topic, a comparative study of Mayan vs. Southern India lunar calendars, Dr. Price insisted we run once again through the database of lunar phases for the years 100 - 146 C.E., even though we seemed to have hammered out every possible detail. I agreed, and as I turned to the terminal to set up the query, Dr. Price poured a plate of hot grits down my pants! They were moist and sticky.

News at 11.
...I mean, think about it. Rape is part of the natural order of things.
We all owe our existance to rape commited by our ancestors. The human race simply wouldn't have flourished if we'd waited for language and the concept of "consentual sex" to develop before engaging in sexual activities.
Let's try and be a little more sensitive to the natural inclinations towards fornication and procreation and stop viewing rape as evil. If there is a god, I'm sure he's in favor of rape. It's part of the human design, it's the way we're hardwired.
So bend over, bitch.
I'll only watch PA movies with Bobcat. Although I do enjoy looking at Leslie Easterbrook's tits. For those of you who are culturally crippled, Leslie Easterbrook is the actress who played that tall nazi-like chick with short blonde hair
for this gay ass joke to get modded up. Fuck you ORLX, I will rape your parents.
Really, it was on channel five, in the uk, about 2 hours earlier. Heh.
unfortunately it will involve your head
It cost my 6th-level assassin 50,000 experience points, 3 levels, and gave him permanent satyriasis. I was not a happy camper, and you can bet I told that asshat DM as much.
This is a valid question dipshits, I know for a fact because I just spent 43 hours setting up Mandrake on my home built subwolfer.
Are moderaters losing faith in the portability of Linux? With that attitude it will die.
I never expected to see someone so well rounded on slashdot. Yes, Leslie Easterbrook's tits were fantastic.
Not many people know that she had a part on Laverne & Shirley. No foolin.
Bobcat was in it Police Academy 4. Steve Guttenberg, too.
What is all this talk about an Antikythera Mechanism? The Kythera Mechanism has never been a problem for anybody. I think we should leave things just as they are!
Slashdot moderators are dipshits. Period.
but mod siblings up. Parent's gh3y, siblings are funny. Oh, and mods are on crack.
To think they went there probably to escape loud, obnoxious people in their own country... Ah, the irony if they saw it today!
It was that or "when are they going to port NetBSD to it?"
mod me down, put me out of my misery
"dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope"
That's what I like about Slashdot. Any old moron can post, but it takes a special sort of moron to moderate!
