Xandros 1.0
Mr. Smoove writes "Despite the quick-off-the-mark review from Newsforge this morning, the Xandros 1.0 desktop is finally here! No free download so you'll have to shell out US$99 for it but you do get an enhanced (?) version of KDE 2.2 and built-in Cross-Over Plugin and Office! Finally a decent challenger to Lycoris and also what Lindows should have been..." There's also an interview with a Xandros executive.
So, by association, so does this software. Also, KDE sucks by its association with Linux, and Linux sucks by its association with OSS, and so on and so forth.
Cunning linguists
..that this is just the worst thing ever? What a bunch of sad acts they must be over at Xandros.
Answer: Not a god damned thing. You won't do shit because you know that Xandros doesn't have to comply with the GPL because the GPL has no teeth. The GPL wouldn't hold up in any court anywhere so Xandros gets to shit all over it if they want to. Just like Microsoft did with the Kerberos extensions.
It's Linux. Give them a few years (well, maybe a decade or so) to fully copy our innovative new products. And then by the time they finish copying us their shit will be obsolete.
Here's to Office 95 on Linux (I think it's called Star Orifice or Wide Open Office or something gay like that).
Time to join the free world you say?
You call this free to have to use whatever
you're told to use?
You're like that commie who thinks that he
lives in a free country.
I just heard on CNN, reviled adulterer and gansta rapper Stephan "M.C." Hawking was found dead in his Cambridge crib early this morning. You may not have liked his work as evil Eddie in the smash hit computer game "Berzerk", but there is no denying his impact on quantum rhyming theory. Truly a degenerate British icon, he will be missed.
Fuck off
