I only wonder if they're planning to merge features (for example, ICQ allows you to send a message to someone even if they're not on; AOL doesn't). Now if they'd only interoperate with everyone else, instant messaging could become big enough to replace email.

I don't think Cerulean Studios would sell out. The people over there can be so anti-AOL at times that they can give Slashdot a run for its money.
