When your information is in their system it only takes a second to check out... However, the problem lies when they start asking if you want to buy a cellphone or perhaps the 47 in. tv behind you because it is on sale for that day only (or the next day when you walk in) and they only have one left. Or when they ask you to sign up for a radioshack credit card so I can recieve huge discounts on future purchases. so next time I walk in to purchase my dollar IC that is on sale because it is going to be no longer sold at radioshack I'd be lucky to save a penny.
" The reason being that broken clients will affect everyone on the network. In order to help you test changes we have set up a seperate network solely for this purpose. When you are happy that your changes work, then please make a submission to the CVS so that we can make the changes available to everybody. If you absolutely need to use the main PeerCast network to test, then you must let us know beforehand. Please state the changes made and when you plan to connect. Although in most cases its much easier to use one of our test networks instead. "
If you are a user on a dialup modem, you will be able to broadcast music to the entire network. The stream is distributed to many other streaming servers and hence a small amount of bandwidth is required on your end to reach a large number of users. This would be fantastic for "Dialup DJ's" and others who don't have the bandwidth but want to stream out audio shows. GPL should allow the project to reach goals faster and possibly spawn other projects/ (streaming video, voip plug-ins)

Maybe your hard drive is to blame. I dont think it has to do with the OS. I just moved 7000+ files registering at about 2.5 gigs. I dragged them dropped them clicked the always replace check box and it was done before I could move the mouse away from the prompt.
There is bound to be some sort of RF admission or electrical noise that these LEO emit. Therefore, it would be possible to detect debris from which that is not. A garbage robot can sweep the area with sonar to detect leftover boosters; bolts, foot clamps or whatever else is up there. When the garbage holding area is full, the robot will destroy itself by falling into the ocean where the rightful owners can pick it up
I wonder why, or if they tried, to hire own their own 'Uber Hackers' to help 'counter' the others. Granted that would just make this whole thing sound way more bizarre than it already does
"Bardarson says he discovered what appears to be computer security weakness in Sprint's infrastructure. He's not the only one. As SecurityFocus Online reported last year, former hacker claims extensive penetrations into Sprint's Las Vegas systems from approximately 1992 until his February, 1995 arrest -- smack dab in the middle of the call diversion complaints. Mitnick's access gave him the power to monitor or reprogram any phone line in town. Following that story, Munoz retained Mitnick as a technical consultant in his case, only to give him up later. Munoz says Mitnick wanted to run too many pointless tests; Mitnick says Munoz stiffed him and a partner for thousands of dollars in fees and expenses.",

Time Travel

Yes, This is common belief that I have heard and read before. Logically, if you have a device that is capable of sending you back in time, you would need an entry point in the point of time you are traveling to. If no device is capable of time travel in this past point in time, then there would be no time travel and therefore impossible. There are many arguments against the possibility of time travel, one of which intrigues me. That is that if matter cannot be created or destroyed, how can you travel back into time without adding more matter to that point in space and time.

At Southern Connecticut State University we are currently using NIS+ for our Solaris authentication. This system is effective for the Solaris boxes. It is a similar system to NIS, but includes encryption and other features that make it a better all around package. The majority of systems on campus run 2K. In the upcoming months we will be phasing into the Campus Pipeline [www.campuspipline.com] software package, and authenticate against LDAP servers. We are planning on integrating all logins with LDAP. The Solaris boxes and OS X boxes will have no trouble authenticating in this manner, however, with our current setup on the Solaris machines, OS X will not work with NIS+. IMHO, LDAP is a better solution for our current setup then would an implementation of NIS.

New iMac Announced
·
· Score: 2, Insightful
I remember a few years ago when they announced the IMAC, I listened the keynote on streaming audio. I was amazed.. Today I watched the keynote on QuickTime. The new IMAC is very cool. It comes with a 15-inch flat screen display suspended on the base of the computer. This screen can swivel 180 degrees, raise up and down, and tilt forward and backwards. The base itself is only just over 10 inches in diameter! They come with a CD-RW up to Apple's super drive (CD-RW, DVD-R). Starting at $1299.
Apple also announced a really sweet image editing program that automatically imports, edits and prints images from a digital camera. IPhoto can also publish to a website (provided on apple's servers), order Kodak prints online, and even publish a hard bound book of photos. All in one application. This application and the new iMac completes apples "digital hub"

I could not replicate this with google maps, what did you do?
I found that MSN Virtual Earth fails to register your mouse button release. If you leave the map area with your mouse button clicked
ex:
Moving your cursor to the Tool bar in Mozilla/Firefox
Or to a different monitor if you are using IE...
When you return your cursor to the map, it will move without having to click your mouse...
Sweet.
