Well, I was in the LAS advice center here on Campus (Wichita State). They had two computers, both iMacs. I beleive they said either 600mhz or 800mhz G3s but they were running MacOSX and it looked like it was the latest version. Did schools get that last big Jaguar update for free?

Im too poor to be a macphile but seriously, browsing with one mouse button in IE was driving me fucking nuts. It took me a minute to find the button that was going to give me a context menu. Sigh. I always thought that it was just an old joke/troll but seriously, why?

I was really wanting to see this iTunes and other iApps but alas, I had not the security access.

I think you missed the whole using the computer at a lab in school.

Id rather educate people on scary two buttons then to have to be lacking!

I think it is a fair bitch. Like I said and the mods missed, I assumed it was just a bitching session and trollish but shit - I sit down to a Linux Box and I can right click for menus. I can do it in windows. Why the hell am I doomed to one mouse button? It really is a lacking feature on these iMacs for how much is paid for what comes out of the box.

Just sitting down and using it, I found it lacking.

EVERY Mac user I know does the same thing upon un-boxing their new Macs: They throw out the POS Apple mouse and plug in a REAL mouse with 2+ buttons and a scroll wheel. WTF can't Apple understand that a two button mouse is EASIER to use because it doesn't require the user to memorize a bunch of arcane keyboard/mouse button combos to bring up contextual menus? OS X is even written with a two button scrollwheel mouse in mind! It's things like these that really burn me up over Apple. I'm a total Mac freak, but sometimes Apple's inane stubbornness actually hurts the functionality of macs. In the case of Apple's idiotic, totally un-ergonomic one-button mouse, it forces new Mac buyers to cough up another $50 for a REAL mouse right after taking it over a barrel on the price of their new Mac. It's not right and Apple is INSANE to keep shipping garbage like their POS mouse that everyone just throws in the trash! I'd really like to meet a Mac user who LIKES Apple's one-button idiot-mouse. Such a person must be a real TEAM PLAYER, the sort who regurgitate all the marketing blabber from www.apple.com as if it's gospel and base friendships and relationships on computer platform orientation.

... I'm still impatiently waiting for Quartz support for older ATI chipsets. The support page that explains how to speed up OS X on older systems has been changed to say something like "We are looking into supporting older chipsets." Well, how hard is it to write drivers for these chips?

I still think Apple is letting down a large part of its customer base by not keeping their promise of OS X support for older systems. I know that in order for them to survive, people need to buy new systems. But not all of us have a few grand to drop every year!

C'mon Apple! Get on the ball!

With in the year they have put out about as many "patches" and security updates as M$ and the others.
