I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

Farscape fans's lack of professional ethics has become so flagrant that it merits your complete attention. By way of introduction, let me just say that it scares the bejeezus out of me to know that Farscape fans might turn over our country to what I call besotted airheads sooner or later. If you doubt this, just ask around. I and Farscape fans part company when it comes to the issue of metagrobolism. It feels that everything it says is utterly and entirely true, while I suspect that we are at a crossroads. One road leads into the light of a bright, shining future in which noisome couch potatoes like Farscape fans are totally absent. The other road leads into the darkness of isolationism. The question, therefore, is: Who's driving the bus? The answer is quite simple. I already listed several possibilities, but because Farscape fans lacks the ability to remember beyond the last two seconds of its existence, I will restate what I said before, for its sake: It should not annihilate a person's personality, individuality, will, and character. Not now, not ever. How can we trust Farscape fans if it doesn't trust us? We can't. And besides, its exegeses are rife with contradictions and difficulties; they're thoroughly despicable, meet no objective criteria, and are unsuited for a supposedly educated population. And as if that weren't enough, if we expose the connections between the sex-crazed problems that face us and the key issues of vigilantism and snobbism, then the sea of obscurantism, on which it so heavily relies, will begin to dry up. To put it another way, I'm sticking out my neck a bit in talking about Farscape fans's ideologies. It's quite likely it will try to retaliate against me for my telling you that if it feels ridiculed by all the attention my letters are bringing it, then that's just too darn bad. Farscape fans's arrogance has brought this upon itself.

I don't have time to go into this in as much detail as I should, but an organization that wants to get ahead should try to understand the long-range consequences of its reinterpretations of historic events. Farscape fans has never had that faculty. It always does what it wants to do at the moment and figures it'll be able to lie itself out of any problems that arise. If natural selection indeed works by removing the weakest and most genetically unfit members of a species, then Farscape fans is clearly going to be the first to go. In that respect, we can say that there are few certainties in life. I, not being one of the many obscene adulterers of this world, have counted only three: death, taxes, and Farscape fans announcing some devious thing every few weeks.

Notice the pusillanimous tendency of Farscape fans's deeds. I don't normally want to expose anyone to rigorous sarcasm, satire and disdain, but Farscape fans surely deserves it. It has been said that Farscape fans has been a faithful servant of dodgy interests for as long as I can remember. That makes sense to me. I believe it's true. But it sincerely implies that Farscape fans undeniably needs to stop living in a fool's paradise. End of story. Actually, I should add that honor means nothing to it. Principles mean nothing to it. All it cares about is how best to promote the subversive expositions of insane saboteurs. Still, the issue of what to do about Farscape fans's hate-filled, power-drunk inveracities is far from settled. The letter you just read should be seen as a starting point for dialogue on this controversial issue.

Or am I the only one who suffers from this Quicktime problem, where the audio skips and repeats like a record the cat used as a scratching post, while the video keeps playing merrily along, getting further and further ahead of the stuttering audio track? ;)

Grow up. Fer gods sake! Go to the library and check out some decent literature or a decent movie or pick up a nerdy blonde with cute glasses and far her scape repeatedly.

Do anything but continue to watch the pre-digested garbage that is constantly pumped into your eye sockets by the cable/broadcast media establishment.
