Single-Chip Linux Computer
goombah99 writes "Axis Computer has announced a single-chip Linux-based computer that integrates 2MB Flash, 8MB SDRAM and an Ethernet transceiver into a single chip with a 27mm x 27mm footprint. 'Just add power to the chip and you have a Linux computer with network connection.' It runs the Linux 2.4 kernel without any patches. The announcement says the chip is 'available' but the tech specs are labeled as preliminary, and the order form on the web site is broken, so it's hard to confirm if it is out yet or not. Some specifications in html and pdf are available at the company's web site."
Haha, lol, yeah!
Hey thats pretty small, maybe than can insert this in the head of our newly cloned baby to give us Linux Baby! Networkable and all

Hmm looks nice but I want.
Linux,
a few GB of disk space,
802.11b(saves taking the HDD out!),
Stereo sound.
Something to drive an LCD display and register a few buttons (probably backed with a PIC microcontroler).
please....
Even better if it could handle 2 MP3's and mix between the two.
Ohhh could I mod an XBox?
thank God the internet isn't a human right.
Jeez we have some mindless people in this forum.
You are talking about a man who in a speech outlined an axis of evil that was right on target. He was dead on about Iraq, Iran has been reviving its nuclear arsenal, and we all know what N.Korea has been up to as of late when they are not delivering Scud missles to Yemen. And you people still think the George Bush cannot even tie his own shoes.
I wait in patience for the day when you liberal nuts finally see the light...
As far as I know, UN inspectors have found nothing and US/UK remain tight lipped about their so called evidence.
Iran has been reviving its nuclear arsenal
And? Why is it that only certain (western) countries should be allowed to own nuclear weapons?
and we all know what N.Korea has been up to as of late when they are not delivering Scud missles to Yemen.
Yemen's missile purchase was quite legal. That's why, much to the embarrasment of our State Department, the ship with its cargo was released.
As far as North Korea goes, they have just as much right to manufacture nuclear materials and weapons as US, UK or France for instance.
The bright light that flashes from a nuke?
How does pushing Iraq toward a more fundamentalist regime, adding the the number of people willing to die die in suicide bombings help combat terrorism?
"US/UK remain tight lipped about their so called evidence. "
Well, I guess years of rampant disregard for UN mandates weren't enough evidence for you. And i guess violations of the no fly zones arent either. Aah, and while were at it, lets disregard the gaping holes in the weapons declerations. Plus, i mean comon, just cause he gassed hundreds of his own subjects doesnt mean he is evil right??
"Iran has been reviving its nuclear arsenal

I would assume that Iran's respect for the US military means they will avoid aggression and in some cases support the cause of peace and freedom.. which they have..
"Yemen's missile purchase was quite legal. That's why, much to the embarrasment of our State Department, the ship with its cargo was released. "
There was no embarrasment. Most were proud that Coalition forces from overseas were able to track down a shipment in such voliatile circumstances. And yes, it was a legal purchase, so of course the Bush administration gave the go ahead to deliver the weapons after they were uncovered from their secret location aboard the ship.
"As far as North Korea goes, they have just as much right to manufacture nuclear materials and weapons as US, UK or France for instance. "
When the nuclear programs are used as blackmail to gain more foreign aid, there is a problem. I mean, when your socialist country-peasents are dying around you, some people resort to rather extreme measures!
Iraq already is already a fundamentalist regime. The Iraq leadership sponsors a big chunk of Palestinian terrorism. Well, your right, i guess the best thing to do would be to pacify pacify pacify...
