iSync 1.0 and iCal 1.0.1 Released

Works great!" I never had many problems with iSync, except for initially setting it up. iCal I've had major performance and other problems with, so hopefully this fixes many of them.
Now if they could get around to support sychronisation with Nokia phones.

Well, it gave some errors with stacktrace-like texts in the beginnen, but after the second sync, all things went well. I tested with a pod, palm and a razor-mirror.
After working so hard successully compiling gentoo on my aging imac, and getting my firewire/palm/ipods to work, why does Apple make it so difficult for one not to boot into linux?? I mean, I am sick of everything working. All iApps rock! I mean what's next Apple?? I would someday like to just be able to reconfigure a kernel again so I can get mol to work. I want to waste hours downloading themes to change in one of my dozen or so windowmanagers. I wish I could just type html code instead of using dreamweaver. I miss the pixely netcape browser. Before, there were dozens of programs that kinda did what I wanted them to, but now, thanks to Apple, I actually am using programs that do everything I want them to. NOW WHAT???

with MacWorld Frisco coming up next week, I find this an odd date to release the soft. Usually, Steve likes to have the premiere of new releases. Granted, for ical it's a small upgrade, but for iSync, it is the first real release after the beta.
Those of us addicted to the rumor sites can now wildly speculate on whether the 11 announcements fluff still stands...

Has anyone been able to get his/her data from an existing palm DB into Address Book (via iSync) with the categories (i.e., work, personal, etc.) preserved? I'm having trouble with contact info, in particular. Any help would be appreciated. ;)
The only thing keeping me from going from Palm Desktop 4.0 on Mac OS X to iCal is the messed-up mounth view.
I tend to keep Palm Desktop open in month view. When I do so, I like being able to see the start times for events (as you can see in the example). iCal, on the other hand, does not list start-times for events while in month view. As a result, I have two choices: I can run in weekly view (Ugh...) or I can double-click events when I want to see when they start.
Neither is acceptable. I was hoping that v1.0.1 of iCal would bring this feature (some others have been asking for it), but I suppose I will have to wait even longer.

When I had the Palm Desktop installed under 10.2.1, I can establish a serial connection to my Palm cradle. How with 10.2.3, it no longer allows a native serial connection (only USB-to-serial and USB allowed).

I agree with the post, I wish to see start times in month view (Yes I provided feedback to apple; lets hope other do to).
Another wish list feature is to be able to publish "anomynized" calendars that show when I'm in unavailable but not the name or meeting details. For example I'd like my published calendar to just show I was busy from 1-4:30 while my private calendar has the details like "1:00 Fire Wozniak", and "2:00 transgender support group".
The other "feature" I dislike is the tabbed info panel. You have to click on five tabs just to see what the meeting is, set the alarm, how often it repeats, and other details, and conact info, rather than just one big panel. Furthemore I cant just double click the entry to get the information I have to click the info button. I think someone just got too clever with the sexy look of the manager panel; too many mouse motions to browse your daily contacts. (click even time, click info button, click all 5 tabs, repeat for next event.)
I hate to admit it but MS entourage is currently a superior program. (of course I cant use its mail features for fear of dreadful MS security holes in its outlook mail engine)

It appears that in the US we basically have two Bluetooth phone choices: the T68i and the 6310i.
I read a bunch of user reviews before buying a new phone a couple of days ago, and the T68i was widely panned for its poor physical design and shoddy workmanship while the 6310i was praised for physical design and quality of workmanship.
So it seems to me that unless you simply can't access the Nokia's address book via Bluetooth, Apple had better get off of their high horse and support the 6310i. If Apple insists on doing it the Pure Way (SyncML only), even if that means the only viable choice of cellphone is less-than-Mac-quality, they're returning to old ways that will throw water on their natural advocates and consumers.
It seems that for everyone in places other than America, there are problems with this update. Events get shifted around by several hours on every launch of iCal, and times for events are skewed.
I'm in Melbourne, Australia, and from what i've read on Apple's Discussion forums, people in places like Chicago are fine, but Hawaii, Australian and New Zealand residents (and most likely other places) all have problems, so its assumed its the time zoning which causes the problems.
So, if you're not in the United States mainland, don't upgrade just yet. Apple has been alerted of the problem, so hopefully they'll get a fix out soon.
Additionally this bug makes the calendar view and the appointment times out of sync. (drawing an appointment on 8pm for example will make an appointment for 2:12am for example)
It's ironic that iSync requires iCal, when iCal is putting all your appointments out of sync.
Hopefully apple will post a fix for this soon.
