Copyright Rumblings

dcunning writes "The Economist has a short opinion piece entitled Copyrights: A radical rethink that suggests (horror of horrors!) going so far as reverting back to the original copyright term of 14 years, renewable once. The article suggests that, in exchange for this, the 'content industries' be given 'much of the legal backing which they are seeking for copy-protection technologies.' A worthwhile and fair tradeoff?"

    Have you bitchslapped anyone today?

How do you feel getting schooled by that expert in the BIOS interview? That must have hurt. Or perhaps it's just more confirmation that everyone's out to get you.

I'm impressed that you edited an article you posted, and finally MENTIONED that it's been edited. Are you becoming less of a coward? Are you (shock! horror!) becoming less of a hypocrite?

Care to provide a half-informed, snide remark in reply? Come on. You must be itching to spread your discontent. Let it flow.

Have you seen the TV commercial for Tidy Cats cat litter with the cats that say "something stinks.. and it's not the litter box"? My girlfriend and I have a long-running feud about this commercial. We need unbiased third-party to help resolve this issue.

The commercial begins with Cat 1 (who thinks he is alone in the kitchen) talking smack about how he is glad Cat 2 and 3 are gone. Then two women come home and one says "with this new litter, you can't even tell there are multiple cats." The Tidy Cats litter bag falls over to reveal Cat 2 and 3! Cat 2 says "something stinks!" and Cat 3 (in a Sean Connery voice) says "and it's not the litter box!" Then the camera cuts to show the response of Cat 1.

If you have seen this commercial, can you please describe your interpretation of the expression of Cat 1 after he has been discovered talking smack? If you have not seen this commercial, please watch for it and pay close attention to the last scene!
