Its main purpose in life was to move employees from their parked cars to the office building. About a year or so ago, Radio Shack decided the subway system was no longer needed and they shut it down permanently. Well, they are now selling the subway cars on eBay. People already drove their cars to work...this train just carried them from the parking lot to the building. Now they walk. Technically, this is, if anything, CONSERVING energy (whatever energy was required to operate and maintain the trains). This wasn't a substitute for anyone driving to work.
