  1. What about Low DPI mode? on HD Emulation Mod Makes 'Mode 7' SNES Games Look Like New (arstechnica.com) · · Score: 4, Informative

One thing I saw when I upgraded my Amstrad CPC 1512 to a 486 with a SVGA Display 320x200 16 color games just didn't look as good any more. Mainly the high resolution high DPI monitor made these pixel nice little squares. Where the Amstrad had a low DPI where each pixel were a bit rounded and a little grainy. This made dithered 16 color graphics look much more realistic, when the EGA dithered the colors, it felt like a 128 color display.
So now with 4k displays, We should be able to emulated the old low DPI displays and see the games much closer to to how we use to see them.

Samsungs Failures will often lead to Apple not doing the same thing. So it may be many more more years until Apple makes a folding phone.

Just like the Note 7 Fires, Embolden the iPhone 7 stance of getting rid of the Headphone Jack. As it root cause seems that the phone was too tightly packed in the the device, where apple removed to port to give the battery a little more room.

Who knows, if the Note 7 didn't catch on fire, perhaps Apples "Courage" to drop the port, would be right back on the next version of the phones.

With the Samsung fold issues, Apple will be justified in their stance to not release such tech. If the product was reliable, Apple would have to start following that trend, and they will need to make a better new device again.

But also there is a lot of Science Fiction Computer UI while many technically possible, are just impractical in real life. For example the Transparent Display It looks good in the movies, but it is so the Camera Man can see the Actors head and the data they are looking at the same time. In real life you are going to be sure you place that display in the right spot, otherwise you background is going to clash with what you are trying to read.

You can probably just mount your Surface Hub horizontally on a table if you want that specialist configuration.

The problem is Science in particular became a partisan ideology. Because many of the scientific studies show results that may conflict with the effectiveness of the steps taken to follow an ideology.
Conservatives who's core base are Religious and the Wealthy Class. Will reject science that goes against the words in the bible, or what will make it harder to run a business as usual. Normally they reject science that says "This is bad"
Liberals who's core base are Academics and Working Class. Will reject science that has a literary history of warning about it, or which is back by big businesses. Normally they reject science that says "This is good"

This makes sense as Conservatives have the gut instinctive to keep things as they are (If it ain't broke then don't fix it). So when Science points to something they have lived their life thinking it is perfectly fine now saying it is bad, makes them uncomfortable.

This also makes sense for Liberals as they have the gut instinct to change things and make them better. The status quo means stagnation, so when science says something that has been made is fine and safe, there is little room to make it better.

So if a Science class is teaching the man made global warming, evolution, vaccines, genetic modification they are not trying to be partisan, but the partisans are applying their rejection to the science thinking it is not me that is wrong, but the whole institution.
