Microsoft Plans An Overhaul For Patch System
sckienle writes "ZD-Net has an article about Microsoft's plans to overhaul their patch system. 'Ninety-five percent of attacks happen after a patch for a known software vulnerability has been issued' says Scott Charney, chief trustworthy computing strategist at Microsoft. Basically, Scott is promoting the idea that Microsoft can do a better job, in many ways, so people will trust and be able to install patches quickly. Microsoft has a transcript of Scott Charney's talk on their site."
As reader sweeney37 summarizes, " Microsoft's plan is to reduce the patch installers from eight to two, they want to have one patch installer specifically for the OS side and one specifically for the applications." Sweeney37 points out this InformationWeek article on the planned change.
Bill Gates predicted this a while ago in his book:

M$ will screw it up regardless of the number of installers. 8, 2, 4, 1, whatever. Bank on that.
btw, fist pst!
Microsoft is for gay people.

"Hi, I love Linux, and dog penis!"
or
(b) sex with a mareHow about writing secure code that is secure right out of the box?
Oh, but wait... this is M$. Sure they do not have resources for that. Nevermind.

Of COURSE we're trying to use GPL code without adhering to the license. That's because the license is BULLSHIT! The idea that simply linking your code to a library should somehow cause a license to jump across the link-gap and infect your application code is BULLSHIT.
You wanna talk about not holding up in court? How about the GPL's blatantly anti-corporate terms? Those are discriminatory, plain and simple, and will NEVER hold up. I fuckin DARE you to sue somebody over the GPL. I would LOVE to see that shit. I'd be watchin that shit every fuckin day on the Court TV, man. Shit'd be better than OJ, man.
Will Windows patch the stupidity of their users?
...the only patch for Microsoft you'll ever need.

at least trying..
very trying...
I think they should put the effort into finishing the development before they release the product instead so that the patches were less relevant.
I love stacking my barbecues in the shed at the end of summer - you can't beat a bit of grill on grill action.
Sincerely, and honestly, GO FUCK YOURSELF, YOU CHEAPSKATE FUCKTARD.
I have to use COMMERCIAL development libraries and embedded OSes, and WE NOT ONLY HAD TO PAY UP FRONT for those libraries BUT HAVE TO PAY EVERY TIME WE SHIP A UNIT OF _OUR_ PRODUCT. THAT is the reality of pro-corporate, pro-commercial software is. It's a license to GET FUCKED IN THE ASS.
Did you ever stop to think about the AUTHORS of GPLed libraries? Have you ever tried mailing them to convince them that you should get to use THEIR libraries which make YOUR life easier and you should give them SWEET FUCK ALL in return? Go pirate some Windows CDs, you fucking leech.
